Actually this is not a climb to mention by name, you do feel it but it is just part of the galibier though nice views no the valley

The wide route, with no extreme percentages in fine asphalt, has its own white-and-yellow info posts that keep you informed of your progress every kilometre (km. to summit/altitude/％volgende km.). There are some panoramic viewpoints along the way and sometimes heavy traffic.
At the short summit plateau, a hay/straw statue honours the numerous summer cycling enthusiasts and you can eat and drink before descending to Valloire.
Even without the underlying Galibier, I found it absolutely worth the climbing effort.

Deze mooie klim, die start bij het over fietsen van de Arc rivier om dan via ongenummerde haarspeldbochten de beboste schaduwrijke bergflank van de Maurienne vallei op te slingeren, beschouwen als simpel voorgerecht van grote broer Galibier doet hem oneer aan.
De brede route, zonder extreme percentages in prima asfalt, heeft zijn eigen wit gele infopaaltjes die je elke kilometer op de hoogte houden van je vorderingen (km. tot top/hoogte/％volgende km.). Er zijn enkele panoramische uitzichtenpunten onderweg en soms wel druk verkeer.
Op het kort top plateau eert een standbeeld in hooi/stro de talrijke zomerse wielerfanaten en kan je eten en drinken alvorens af te dalen naar Valloire.
Zelfs zonder achterliggende Galibier vond ik hem absoluut de kliminspanning waard.

Ascent made in January. Snow-cleared road. Surrounding landscapes totally covered with snow. It was great! You have to pedal in winter too. On the other hand, many cars of families who go skiing.
The first few kilometres were quite hard, then it became easier at the end and finally a pleasant descent to Valloire. The Galibier pass was closed. But who cares, the Télégraphe is worth doing even in winter, especially in winter?
Ascension effectuée en janvier. Route déneigée. Paysages alentour totalement enneigés. C’était formidable ! Il faut pédaler aussi en hiver. Par contre, beaucoup de voitures de familles qui vont skier.
C’est assez costaud sur les premiers km puis, ça devient roulant sur la fin et enfin une agréable descente sur Valloire. Le col du Galibier était fermé. Mais qu’importe, le Télégraphe est à faire même en hiver, surtout en hiver ?
Very nice pass done with my sidekick Antoine C.. Quite hard at the beginning of the route but quite rolling towards the end.
I recommend going through this pass before taking the Galibier pass. I challenge anyone to beat the time we achieved mdr....

I climbed it several times, it is a very regular climb but a bit demanding, it depends on how fast you climb it, for my part I like the dry climbs where I can hit it, the asphalt is good but it is a real motorway, bikes, cars and a lot of bikers.
The road is very nice, but on the descent you can really enjoy yourself, I wonder if I don't ride the telegraph just for the descent.
Je l'ai grimpé plusieurs fois ,c'est une montée très régulière mais un peu exigeante , ça dépend à quelle vitesse on le monte ,pour ma part j'aime bien les montées sèches où je peux taper dedans ,l'asphalte est de qualité par contre c'est une véritable autoroute ,des vélos ,des voitures et beaucoup de motards .
Vu que la route est très belle ,dans la descente on peut vraiment se faire plaisir ,je me demande même si je ne monte pas le télégraphe juste pour la descente

In terms of climbing, this col is perfectly doable. Not long and certainly not too steep. Cycled on a lovely summer day with some friends so it's probably nicer than alone with lesser weather conditions. Had a nice day so good memories of this climb!
The Telegraphe is not to be missed if you are going to climb the Galibier.
Tijdens de TdF in 2017 gedaan. Mooi, maar geen bijzonder mooie klim. Al met al een aardige opwarmer voor het echte werk wat daarna begint naar de top van de Galibier.
Qua klimmen is deze col prima te doen. Niet lang en zeker niet te steil. Gefietst op een heerlijke zomerdag met wat vrienden dus dan is het waarschijnlijk mooier dan alleen met mindere weersomstandigheden. Mooie dag gehad dus mooie herinneringen aan deze klim!
De Telegraphe mag je niet missen als je de Galibier toch gaat beklimmen.
This is absolutely not a nice col. Only a necessary evil if you want to go over the Galibier. The Galibier is worth it.

Known col but is somewhat on the dull side. The many curves are nice but real views are rare.

A tricky climb that is quite a stand in the way of the Galibier if you start from Saint-Michel. It's not really a warm-up, but a real mountain. So on this mountain it's all about holding back so you can pop on the Galibier. I found the combination with the Galibier a super awesome experience, even though it was my first experience in the high mountains.
Een lastige klim die een behoorlijke sta in de weg voor de Galibier is als je vanuit Saint-Michel vertrekt. Het is niet echt een warming-up, maar een echte berg. Op deze berg is het dus inhouden geblazen, zodat je kunt knallen op de Galibier. Ik vond de combinatie met de Galibier een supermooie belevenis, hoewel het mijn eerste ervaringen in het hooggebergte waren.
