One of my favorite climbs in this area. Firstly because the views are amazing but secondly because at the top you reach a mountain plateau which today is an unpopulated army testing area.
If you have strong legs you can keep cycling along the abandoned town of Broves and you will reach the hilltop town of Bargeme which has two cafe/restaurants. (call ahead if you want to visit) Absolutely stunning views along the way.
You approach this climb from Bargemon, which you can reach from Callas, Claviers or Seillans. Road surface is excellent most of the way. Watch out for the goats near the top.
Nice climb with good tarmac, nice views and little traffic. Really a runner, nowhere really steep. After the plateau you can continue the climb towards Bargeme, or take the col de clavel and the col de lachens. After the plateau, you can also turn right to finally descend via Montferrat.
Mooie klim met goed asfalt, fraaie uitzichten en weinig verkeer. Echt een loper, nergens echt steil. Na de volgt een plateau waarna je verder kan klimmen richting Bargeme, of de col de clavel en de col de lachens kan pakken. Na het plateau kan je ook liksaf draaien om via montferrat eindelijk wat af te dalen.
Very nice climb with an even gradient. Halfway you pass through a quiet village and at the top of the climb you have a fantastic view. If you then continue to ride you're on a plateau that is remote from civilization
Zeer mooie klim met een egaal stijgingspercentage. Halverwege passeer je door rustig dorpje en boven op de klim heb je een fantastisch uitzicht. Als je vervolgens verder rijdt zit je op een plateau dat afgelegen is van de bewoonde wereld
Col du Bel Homme, just because of the name you have to make a selfie with the sign on top! I climbed this col on 27 July 2021, coming from Le Muy, you climb from between the vineyards to Callas. From Callas, you can easily reach Bargemon. A nice ride to the start. The col du Bel Homme is a good climb. Not long and not very hard. When the road flattens out you'll see a sign where you can make a selfie for the people at home. The road climbs a little more. Next time I will continue, but now it was far enough for me. Back to the beach !
Col du Bel Homme, alleen al vanwege de naam moet je toch een selfie met het bord bovenop maken! Ik heb deze col op 27 juli 2021 beklommen, komend uit Le Muy , je klimt van tussen de wijngaarden naar Callas. Vanuit Callas ben je zo in Bargemon. Een mooie rit dus naar de start. De col du Bel Homme is een prima klim. Niet lang niet heel zwaar. Als het afvlakt kom je het bordje tegen waar je je selfie maakt voor het thuisfront. De weg klimt nog iets verder. Volgende keer rij ik verder door, maar nu was het voor mij ver genoeg. Terug naar het strand !
