Nice climb, pity that the last km poles are no longer there. The road surface is 70% okay, the rest needs improvement, without being dangerous. Little traffic.... read more

Nice long even climb where villages alternate with stretches of emptiness and forest. The climb is good to do as it remains even in terms of steepness percentage. Asphalt is reasonable but could definitely use a new layer. It is highly recommended to look to the right just after the descent, in good weather you have a nice view of the Aravis mountains.

Be careful if you cycle here in the low season and want to have lunch/pause in the ski village of Saises. I rode here in late May (on weekends) and all the restaurants were closed and the Spar was open on a limited basis even though Google led you to believe otherwise.

Fine not too difficult climb. Climb ridden on 19/7/23. Neatly dropped off for the Tour that would pass by later. Lovely and quiet with crowds along the side. Not too long and not too steep. In short enjoyed the views and cheers!

Done after the Forclaz and the Arpettaz. I found this pass to be endless, no juice at all. The many flats and descents allow you to recover a little. The road is very busy and I find that this slope is not very beautiful. The climb from Beaufort via Hauteluce is much more attractive.

We came from Lainslebourg, beautiful camping and volbepäckt over the Iseran(2700m) and more than 2000m down Bourg St Maurice at the camping, all alone with two. From Bourg the Roselend behind a Prof so far he would have enough and gaz gave. Very beautiful Col, the Lac but very troublesome, so much more fun dan d'Huez and Saissies was less difficult until Sallaches at the camping with a small lake and swimming pool. Only de Joux Plane still, 8,5% averaged and schillen in Morzine with the best Irish coffee ever, also the mountain hut was on to command, lovely crêpes Savoyard..the last 1000km to Hollande was always down past the Swiss border....

I rode the climb from Ugine via the Balcons d'Arly and Crest-Voland. An absolute must if you want to climb hard. The Garmin indicated continuously between 8 and 12% and that you feel. Along the way beautiful views of the Gorges d'Arly. The ski village at the top offers sufficient apple pie possibilities.

Weinig verkeer.
