I did a trip from Cargese, via Piana to Porto and started the climb there. A climb that never becomes steep but because of his length still a serious climb. Great views in the first 10k, the top is satisfing but not so beatifull. I returned via the D70 (col de Sevi) to Sargone. Great round trip. The descent from Col de Vergio to Evisa and from Col de Sevi to Sagone are both fantastic descents. Good surface and good overview not to many traffic. For btetween 65 -60 km/h was a safe speed. With tops possible to 75-80km/h. In the morning there is very few traffic before the tourist start driving to the top of the cols.
Done from Evisa, so only the final part and by bicycle touring with a 25kg bike; the gradients are not excessive and the asphalt is good, the landscape is very beautiful, almost completely covered by trees but every now and then there are some fantastic views. There are signs with the kilometre progression and gradients.
Nice climb but start early because of the heat. Indeed pigs...2x they came after me. Mostly around 4-6 % and a few flat sections.
Long climb from Porto but steady and not too difficult. I did it as part of the GT20. Watch out for the pigs on the road.
Along the way beautiful and varied nature. During the climb there are enough flat stretches to rest. From Porto you better stay south (right bank) of the river. There the tarmac is better.
The Gorge de Spelunca where you cycle through is worthwhile to stop once in a while. Very nice!
Erg fraai!
