Good to test the legs or as a warm-up for longer climbs. Very regular percentages and nice views when you get to the top.

The climb is relatively short but quite steep and sportive, in the middle of rich suburban houses. This pass is often an intermediate point to go to the col de Porte : at the top of Clémencière, either you turn right and join after 3 or 4 km of easy ascent the main route of the col de Porte at the level of the col de Vence, a few km before le Sappey-en-Chartreuse, or you go straight down in a short descent which joins the ascent route to the col de Palaquit by Sarcenas. The said Palaquit pass is also on the main route to the Porte pass, but only 2.5 km from the pass. My preference is for this variant.
