The road is beautiful. Redone for the Tour de France?
In any case, it's quiet. I passed more bikes than cars.
The average gradient is very reasonable, but some sections hold up well.
It's a very pleasant climb. Pins, more or less tight switchbacks, wide bends, the programme is varied. The scenery is elegant.
The tributes to local cycling legend René Vietto (at the start, in the middle and at the finish of the col) are a testament to the love of cycling, perhaps with a hint of local chauvinism.

En tout cas, c’est calme. J’ai croisé plus de vélos que de voitures.
Le pourcentage moyen est très raisonnable mais certains tronçons se défendent bien.
C’est une ascension très agréable. Épingles, lacets plus ou moins serrés, virages larges, le programme est varié. Les paysages sont élégants.
Les hommages à René Vietto, gloire locale du cyclisme (au départ, au milieu et à l’arrivée du col) sont autant de témoignages de l’amour du vélo peut-être mâtiné d’un zeste de chauvinisme local.
Là haut, cette touchante bâtisse en ruine qui fait face au mémorial de notre ami René Vietto.
Oui, une belle ascension.
Lovely climb. Close to the hustle and bustle of coast, but delightfully quiet in the mountains. This climb has some tricky kilometres, interspersed with some better running sections. Highlight is the passage with the hairpin bends. The kilometre signs are also very handy and help to classify the climb properly
Heerlijke klim. Dichtbij de drukte van kust, maar in de bergen is het heerlijk rustig. Deze klim heeft enkele lastige kilometers, afgewisseld met wat beter lopende stukken. Hoogtepunt is de passage met de haarspeldbochten. De kilometer bordjes zijn ook erg handig en helpen om de klim goed in te delen
Difficult climb. Much more irregular than the schedule suggests. However, it is a wonderfully quiet road and you are treated to a beautiful viewpoint over the hairpin bends.
Lastige klim. Veel onregelmatiger dan het schema doet vermoeden. Wel een heerlijk rustige weg en je wordt getrakteerd met een mooi uitzichtpunt over de haarspeldbochten.
