If there wasn’t as much traffic this has the potential to be a 5 star climb. Good scenery, tough gradients, and some hairpins. The traffic though is fairly busy. No large vehicles, but a steady stream of cars going up and down. Makes it noisy, and a little stressful as they can be a little impatient. It’s fine to go up this climb if you need to, especially if you are doing it outside busy times. A great little climb on perfect tarmac. The road is twin carriageway generally wide enough to allow vehicles to pass. The only really awkward section is at at 'S' bend on the steepest part of the climb where vehicles can't easily pass so stack up behind. A sign at the start of the climb states that vehicles >7.5 T are prohibited as are coaches (local busses excepted). However, expect traffic as the road does still carry a constant flow of cars and vans.
