De rooster dwars over de weg remt je af, en de klinkers doen je snelheid ook geen voordeel... Na de steile strook vlakken de percentages wat af, ook hier gaat de klinkerbaan over in een asfaltstrook van bedenkelijke kwaliteit, maar deze is zeker te berijden met een racefiets.
Pittig strookje, maar te kort om je echt pijn te doen.

If you do not expect that and you have to change gear after the bend, you are seen and you are as good as standing still. I happened to change to the smallest gear before the bend and then you can pedal up. But some in the group, who were also surprised, couldn't get their oversized gear onto the smallest sprocket fast enough, resulting in a clutching chain and a foot on the ground. Very narrow street by the way. I really wouldn't know where to cycle if you had a car on the other side. But I have never come across one.
Deze voor mij onbekende klim zat ooit goed verstopt in een toertocht in de buurt van Leuven. Als je van de Leuvensestraat komt (vanuit Leuven), dan is het een klein straatje links in. Maar het venijn zit hem in de haakse bocht van 90°. Achter die bocht (waar je toch wel moet afremmen) duikt een ware muur op van zo'n 200m. Je ziet die totaal niet komen omdat het huis op de hoek van de straat alle zicht belemmert. Als je je daar niet aan verwacht en je moet na de bocht nog schakelen ben je gezien en sta je zo goed als stil. Ik schakelde toevallig voor de bocht naar het kleinste verzet en dan trappel je hem zo omhoog. Maar enkelen in de groep, die ook verrast waren, kregen hun te grote verzet niet snel genoeg op het kleinste tandwiel met een haperende ketting en voet aan de grond als resultaat. Zeer smalle straat overigens. Ik zou echt niet weten waar fietsen als je hier een auto als tegenligger krijgt. Maar ik ben er wel nog nooit een tegengekomen.
