Highly recommended to climb the pico Areeiro from the east side. I cycled from Funchal to Camacho (ER102) and via this route (ER203) to the pico. A major advantage in comparison from the other routes, is less traffic than via Monte (ER103) and less steep than the routes from the west side (ER107)
