Did this climb 3days ago before the Gavia to ride to bormio from Val Di Sole. A very even climb that is good to do. Except there is a lot of traffic which makes the climb less pleasant.

Climbed the wide and sometimes busy road of the Passo del Tonale.
Throughout the climb, from village to village, the gradient is constantly around 5 to 7 ％ with some slightly steeper short sections, but never extreme. Laatste 2 kilometer vlakken af (vals plat) doch die vielen in mijn geval tegen met de wind die er boven op de open plateauvlakte van de pas staat.
Top geeft zomers uitgestorven indruk met hotelkolonie voor wintersporters. Alleen het bombastisch monument voor Oostenrijks-Italiaanse grensoorlog van 1915-1918 sprong in het oog.

Ideale opwarming voor de Gavia die je na de afdaling langs de andere zijde kan starten!
