Nice spicy climb from the Senserbach/Selzerbeek valley to Orsbach. There are several ways to get to the start of the climb. From Oud-Lemiers (NL) at the end, drive between two fences and via the small bridge over the Senserbach/Selzerbeek onto a bumpy path. At the end, turn left to the start of the climb. You can also go via the Grensweg Vaals/Senserbachweg or from Aachen/Seffent via the Schurzelter Strasse/Schneebergweg to the start of the climb. The first stretch until past the first houses of Orsbach is the steepest part of the climb. Then it flattens out until the junction with Düserhofstrasse but the climb continues for a bit on the right.

Vanuit Oud-Lemiers (NL) aan het einde tussen twee hekjes doorrijden en via het bruggetje over de Senserbach/Selzerbeek rij je een hobbelig paadje op. Aan het einde ga je linksaf naar het begin van de klim. Je kan ook via de Grensweg Vaals/Senserbachweg of van uit Aken/Seffent via de Schurzelter Strasse/Schneebergweg naar het begin van de klim gaan. Het eerste stuk tot voorbij de eerste huizen van Orsbach is het steilste deel van de klim. Daarna vlakt het tot aan de splitsing met de Düserhofstrasse af maar loopt de klim rechtsaf nog een stukje door.

Anstieg über eine wenig befahrene Nebenstraße mit recht steilen Zwischenstellen. Zwar ist der Anstieg recht anstrengend, dennoch ist es machbar. Empfehlenswert ist sicherlich die Anfahrt aus Lemiers(NL), die über eine kleine Holzbrücke führt, auf der man jedoch schieben muss.

Quite a steep climb with very nice views just across the border with Germany. Good asphalt. Climb takes a bit longer than expected and you can feel that. The sign "built-up area" offers no relief yet. That comes only after the right turn.

After the descent via the Senserbachweg you think you're cruising nicely through the valley in the direction of the Netherlands .... Suddenly, the road goes up again and before you know it, the chain is on the left and your upper legs are screaming for rest. Once at the top, the view is the reward and you quickly forget that you did not see this coming.
Na de afdaling via de Senserbachweg denk je lekker door het dal te cruisen richting Nederland.... opeens gaat de weg weer omhoog en voor je het weet ligt de ketting helemaal links en gaan de bovenbenen weer roepen om rust. Eenmaal boven is het uitzicht de beloning en vergeet je snel dat je deze niet zag aankomen.
The Lemier mountain is quite steep. When you're almost in Orsbach you have a nice view over the hilly country when you look back. In Oud-Lemiers you can cross over to Germany on a narrow and short path (actually not meant for cyclists) and then you end up at the foot of this climb.
De Lemierse berg is best pittig. Als je bijna in Orsbach bent heb je een mooi uitzicht over het heuvelland als je naar achter kijkt. In Oud-Lemiers kan je over een smal en kort paadje (is eigenlijk niet bedoeld voor fietsers) de oversteek maken naar Duitsland en dan kom je precies aan de voet van deze klim uit.
A hidden gem just across the border in Germany. The road towards it is nice and easy down through nature as a good warming up and then the real work begins! Beautiful climb with beautiful views to the left. Also stop at the top and turn around for a while, totally worth it to see the South Limburg landscape like this!
Een hidden gem net over de grens in Duitsland. De weg ernaartoe is lekker vals plat omlaag door de natuur als goede opwarmer en dan kan het echte werk beginnen! Prachtige klim met links mooie vergezichten. Stop ook even op de top en draai je effe om, helemaal de moeite waard om het Zuid-Limburgse landschap zo te bekijken!
One of my dream climbs as a child. Often on holiday at Landal Reevallis(Vijlen) I climbed this well visible road in Germany and when I was older I made this dream come true several times. Good asphalt road, in the beginning a serious effort and after that a nice paddle to the church of Orsbach. From there a nice view on Vijlen and surroundings. Nice!
Een van mijn droomklimmen als kind. Vaak op vakantie op Landal Reevallis(Vijlen) gelonkt naar deze goed zichtbare weg in Duitsland en op latere leeftijd de droom meermaals laten uitkomen. Prima asfaltweg, in het begin even serieus aanzetten en erna lekker peddelen naar het kerkje van Orsbach. Vanaf daar een mooi terugzicht op Vijlen en omstreken. Leuk!

A nice spicy climb on fairly good asphalt. But there are more climbs in that area. Kuhlweg, schneeberg, schlangenberg, vetschauer and rohrberg. Beautiful views everywhere and you get from 4-15% for your choice and almost everything car-free, but a road surface so terrible and even dangerous in a descent. Too bad because it is a beautiful area.

Mooi uitzicht overal en je krijgt van 4-15% voor je kiezen en nagenoeg alles autovrij, maar een wegdek zo verschrikkelijk slecht en zelfs gevaarlijk in een afdaling. Jammer want het is een prachtig gebied.
A nice spicy climb. Don't like that steep part of 13%? Then you can always cycle around the Schneeberg and along the golf course in a winding road up (1 km at 6%) with a beautiful view over the huge Aachen hospital, or take the slightly steeper Rohrberg at Seffent.
Please note: As soon as you follow the cycle route signs in Orsbach itself back in the direction of Simpelveld/Bocholtz, you will be faced with about 500 meters to 1 kilometer of road surface that can be called worthless even by Belgian standards.

Dan kun je altijd nog om de Schneeberg heen fietsen en langs de golfbaan in een slingerweg omhoog (1 kilometer a 6%) fietsen met een mooi uitzicht over het gigantisch ziekenhuis van Aachen of bij Seffent de nog iets steilere Rohrberg nemen.
Let wel: Zodra u de fietsroute-borden in Orsbach zelf terug richting Simpelveld/Bocholtz volgt, staat u zo'n kleine 500 meter a 1 kilometer aan wegdek te wachten dat zelfs voor Belgische standaarden waardeloos te noemen is.
This climb is a nice one to tackle when you come down the Vaals mountain and want to make a crossing in the direction of Simpelveld and Eys. A nice approach to this climb from the Vaalserberg is when you enter Vaals to descend immediately through the center of Vaals, via the Viergrenzenweg to the Rijksweg. Here turn right towards Germany and immediately at the border turn left on the Grensstraat. This road runs exactly on the border of the Netherlands and Germany. Just between the poles, and then turn left on the Senserbachweg. You are now treated to a nice piece of smooth tarmac of about three kilometers which goes downhill a bit. Then you get a faint turn to the left and 100 meters further to the right where the climb begins. The view is great.
To go in the direction of Simpelveld/Eys you turn left at the T-junction. Then at the next junction keep right and then left again.
Deze klim kun je mooi meepakken als je de Vaalserberg afkomt en een doorsteek wilt maken richting Simpelveld en Eys. Een mooie aanloop naar deze klim vanaf de Vaalserberg is als je Vaals komt inrijden meteen door het centrum van Vaals af te dalen, via de Viergrenzenweg tot op de Rijksweg. Ga hier rechts richting Duitsland en meteen op de grens naar links over de Grensstraat. Deze weg loopt precies op de grens van Nederland en Duitsland. Even tussen de paaltjes door, en dan linksaf de Senserbachweg op. Je wordt nu verwend met een heerlijk stuk glad asfalt van een kilometertje of drie dat een beetje bergaf gaat. Vervolgens krijg je een flauw bocht naar links en 100 meter verderop naar rechts waar ook meteen de klim begint. Het uitzicht is geweldig.
Om richting Simpelveld/Eys te gaan, op de T-splitsing naar links. Daarna bij de volgende splitsing rechts aanhouden om vervolgens weer links aan te houden.

Nice that this little climb is included. Very nice views, good connection between Simpelveld and Vaals region (both directions!) and a good resting place at the top at the edge of the village for tasty waffles or the like.
Mooi dat dit klimmetje erbij staat. Erg mooi uitzicht, goede verbinding tussen regio Simpelveld en Vaals (beide richtingen!) en een goede rustplaats bovenaan aan het rand van het dorp voor lekkere wafels o.i.d.
