2km of intense wall riding on porphyry. I climbed with a 36/34 ratio, in my case it was more about minutes per pedal than pedalling per minute. If you stop, you can't start again. I was amazed that this narrow road is two-way.... Moreover, I rode it on a Friday morning and it was relatively busy (I encountered more than 5 cars in about 20 minutes). Still, it is an extremely beautiful climb that is worth doing if you are in Trieste.... read more

Tough climb on cobblestones and a section right on cobblestones in the second half. It offers three very brief moments of recovery but otherwise is pure despair. The hardest point is shortly after the start with a ramp at 20% followed by a brief normal moment (around 10 or more) and then after a hairpin bend a ramp starts again at least at 15% culminating in a new section around 20%. After this part (you are about in the first third), the bad part is over. There are 10 m to rest and afterwards the climb resumes, but in general, apart from a short point to cross a railway, it is no longer so cruel.

For those interested, on the second Sunday in September there is a very popular amateur time trial called Rampigada Santa

A climb comparable in difficulty to the famous Muro di Sormano. It must be done with the right ratio otherwise you will be forced to get off your bike. Leg-breaking.

Spaccagambe.
