Splendid and demanding climb that starts out aggressively from the village of Cismon del Grappa. The first kilometres climb steeply up the coast towards Lago Corlo with views of the village of Incino. The road heads south through a beautiful beech forest with challenging stretches but interspersed with many hairpin bends that allow a minimum of recovery.
The asphalt is excellent and there is virtually no vehicular traffic.
At the eighth kilometre and almost at an altitude of 1,000 metres, we come out into the open with a beautiful view of the Enego plain and beyond with the peaks of the northern part of the Asiago plateau and the peaks of the Lagorai.
We continue determinedly for another 6 kilometres or so and at an altitude of 1,400 metres we reach the road that climbs from Caupo. Another ten or so more manageable kilometres and you arrive at the Bassano refuge on Cima Grappa at 1,720 m.
There are no drinking fountains along the ascent and the summit part is often accompanied by wind, fog and drizzle.

Secondary road that connects to the one that climbs from Caupo to then reach Cima Grappa, first 16 km through the woods, no fountains.
