A variant of the Vecquee where you first ride down from the main road for a bit further before returning to the main road via a steep little road. Given the high climbing percentage in that stretch, I assume this is useful to earn as many climbing points as possible, otherwise it's not necessarily a useful addition. Once you pass that calf bite, the climb is actually quite long even and a good training climb. Good tarmac but busy at times... read more

A tough start when you turn it on from the Amblève. Then a long, steady climb on a wide track with good tarmac. Without the slightly busier traffic at times, it would be 5 stars for me.

I did this climb from the main road...gentle start and from the exit in Stoumont it goes up steeply around 7 - 8 % constant over a length of about a kilometre...nice climb with little traffic and reasonably good road surface.

For those who like long climbs, this is definitely a must. The first bit takes your breath away, but afterwards the percentages are such that you can recover from it. Especially from the exit at Stoumont, this is a fairly steady climb, good to find a real climbing rhythm.

Accidentally grabbed this version of La Vecquee. I think I would have preferred the other version, haha. The first part is quite steep but if you survive you are treated to good road surface until Stoutmont. This climb (La Vecquee) is definitely a must with this road surface and this length.
