Rozenbos / Holleweg

Car-free climb on the Veluwezoom that starts quietly between villas and gradually dives into the forest. The road becomes narrower and steeper, with a distinctly vicious section in the hollow until the little bridge. One of the most beautiful and atmospheric climbs in the region.

Beautiful climb, which becomes even more beautiful when you continue it to the Posbank. Starts nice and easy, but gets steeper (and nicer) until you pass under the little bridge. At the steepest part, it really is steeper than the 8％ indicated by the profile here. You get into the double digits. Then a short descent and left for the rest of the climb (2nd part Hullekesberg). Then rolling on to the Posbank with stunning views over the heathland on your left.

Perhaps the most beautiful climb to the Posbank. And with a unique character. Via a car-free tarmac road, you enter the forest from a residential area where the road gets steeper and steeper. Further on, it really becomes a deep hollow road with steep percentages, a few curves and further on, it also spans a bridge. After the bridge, it quickly flattens out.

What a gem this is. In my opinion, one of the most beautiful here on the Veluwezoom. Completely car-free, you ride delightfully into the beautiful forest. I noticed that I rode quite a bit into the forest before it really started to get steeper. In the bends you get the feeling of real climbing for a while, under the bridge and then it flattens out.

Nice climb, completely car-free. Marvelling at the beautiful country houses first, before the road rises steeply. Actually, the job is done when the descent begins.

My favourite climb on the Posbank. It starts out false flat and with wide space along the road. Slowly the slopes close in closer and closer around the road and the road gets steeper before being rewarded at an idyllic horse paddock where you can take a break.

Nice climb with no car traffic. Starts quite easy and gradually gets more difficult. One of the most beautiful climbs in this area, also because of the narrow road.

Through the forest, via a hollow road, it gets very steep for a while. Truly a highlight of the region!

If you are a bit fed up with the schietbergseweg then the best thing to do, in my opinion, is this one. It is a much nicer road, not nearly as busy ( not yet ) and a lot more challenging than 'the posbank' where it gets difficult especially at the end.

Possibly the toughest climb in the Veluwezoom, but also the most beautiful at the same time. I would always do this one when cycling in the area, as the hollow has something mystical about it and it is well hidden compared to the Posbank climb.

What a cool climb this is indeed, a gem. Beautiful surroundings, good length and a challenging profile. I would always prefer this climb to the Posbank.

Much better alternative than Posbank; car-free. Starts very simply on a wide road, which gets darker and darker through the woods. After some slight bends, it starts to get narrower and steeper. After the bend to the left, it gets really steep up to the little bridge. The road is barely 2 metres wide with moraines on either side. Nice experience. One of the nicest climbs in the region!

Whether it was the autumn, the steep percentage, the peace, the nice bridge or the hollow road that makes this climb so beautiful? No idea, but this one scores 10 points in all. Via the Posbank, you ride into the Veluwe, because of the name or the Giro finish line at the top. However, via Rozenbos/Holleweg you go up to enjoy the fact that you are on a racing bike. I can count on 1 hand the times in the Netherlands that I have enjoyed a climb so much!

Great to cycle up here. The road is narrow, but that makes the climb so beautiful. You scrape up along the trees. No motorized traffic, which makes the experience really special.

What a wonderful climb and what a rascal! It starts off subtly ascending, so you think you can get up the climb at pace. Then in the forest it gets narrower and darker and the scenery more beautiful, and the road steeper. Still trying to keep pace so you don't downshift too much. Then comes a kink to the right and it turns out that the real ascent is yet to come. Another left turn and it gets even steeper. Then after the bridge comes redemption in the form of the road flattening out. Lovely stretch of road, one of the most beautiful places in the Veluwe.

One of the many ways to get to the top of the Veluwe. Especially beautiful in autumn. Like everything else in the area nowhere very difficult, but due to its length and setting a certainty when you're in the area.

Nicest climb on the Posbank. Short enough to go flat out. Also super quiet. What you can't say about the Posbank itself...

Forget that much too busy Posbank: this is the one you must do. No cars, very quiet in the woods and indeed an assassin. Is this already false flat uphill or is there something going on, I thought the first time. And then you see the wooden footbridge in the distance and you know that this piece there is going to hurt. Delightful!

The Rozenbos is one of the gems of the Veluwezoom. As a descent not recommended (often wet and loose leaves, and MT'ers who cross the course), but as a climb a recommendation. Against slightly rising percentages is started o via a right and a left turn to reach the apotheosis. Where the MTB'ers fly over you (bridge), the Rozenbos reaches here its maximum steepness. Nice to stand on the pedals for a while. A typical, beautiful hollow road. South Limburg in miniature.

The most beautiful climb around the Posbank!

What a beautiful climb. A quiet run and halfway ff stumbling to arrive at the top with sour legs. The high walls between which you ride is really great to see, what really gives you an extra incentive. Many talk about the Zijpenberg (rightly so) and the Posbank, but this one really belongs between them.

In my opinion, the most enjoyable and beautiful climb of the Veluwezoom and indeed a hidden gem. The climb starts off false flat in de Steeg, between pretty capital villas and climbs up a fine car-free tarmac road with percentages around three per cent. The temptation is great to ram up here with great resistance, but then you could find yourself in an ugly position in the final stretch. When the road turns sharper to the left follows the most beautiful and steepest part: a beautiful hollow road that invites you to come up out of the saddle and welcome the pedestrian bridge as a kind of finish arch.

Personally the nicest climb of the Veluwezoom. Starts like many climbs here with false flat, but as the walls get higher, the percentage rises considerably.

Through climbfinder I came across this unknown climb and added it to my ride today. The Rose Forest is truly a gem that shouldn't be missing from your ride!
The climb is like a sly fox, you start on a wide road with easy percentages. As you enter the forest, the road gets a bit narrower and the percentages start to climb. Towards the end you cycle between two high earth walls and the percentages go up to 10％. If you go under the cyclist bridge, you are at the end of the climb and you can choose whether you go left on the Holleweg or via cycle paths (also beautiful) to continue your route.
The Rozenbos climb is car free and very quiet. On a beautiful summer day in July, I didn't meet anyone along the way. The road surface is fantastic, smooth asphalt without stones. Justly called a hidden gem!

For me the most beautiful road and toughest climb on the Veluwezoom. Beautiful hollow road, quiet approach with a vicious final shot.
