Nice climb with no car traffic. Starts quite easy and gradually gets more difficult. One of the most beautiful climbs in this area, also because of the narrow road.
Mooie klim zonder autoverkeer. Begint vrij makkelijk en wordt gaandeweg wat lastiger. Een van de mooiste klimmen in dit gebied, ook vanwege het smalle weggetje.
Truly a diverse climb. Through the forest, via a hollow road, it gets very steep for a while. Then a little less, you descend and get to go up again. Truly a highlight of the region!
Echt een diverse klim. Door het bos, via een holleweg wordt het even heel steil. Dan weer wat minder, daal je af en mag je nog een keer omhoog. Echt een hoogtepunt in de regio!
If you are a bit fed up with the schietbergseweg then the best thing to do, in my opinion, is this one. It is a much nicer road, not nearly as busy ( not yet ) and a lot more challenging than 'the posbank' where it gets difficult especially at the end.
Ben je de schietbergseweg een beetje zat dan kun je het beste, in mijn opinie, deze gaan doen. Het is een veel mooiere weg, lang niet zo druk ( nog niet ) en een stuk uitdagender dan 'de posbank' waar het vooral op het eind moeilijk word.
Possibly the toughest climb in the Veluwezoom, but also the most beautiful at the same time. I would always do this one when cycling in the area, as the hollow has something mystical about it and it is well hidden compared to the Posbank climb.
Mogelijk de zwaarste klim van de Veluwezoom, maar ook gelijk de mooiste. Ik zou deze altijd doen als ik in de buurt fiets, want de holle weg heeft iets mystieks en het is goed verscholen vergeleken met de Posbank-klim.
What a cool climb this is indeed, a gem. Beautiful surroundings, good length and a challenging profile. I would always prefer this climb to the Posbank.
Wat een gave klim is dit inderdaad, een pareltje. Prachtige omgeving, goede lengte en een uitdagend profiel. Ik zou deze klim altijd verkiezen boven de Posbank.
Much better alternative than the Posbank; car-free. Starts very easy on a wide road, which gets darker and darker through the woods. After some faint bends it starts to get narrower and steeper. After the left-hand bend, it becomes really steep up to the small bridge. The road is barely 2 metres wide with moraines on either side. Nice experience.
Then a short descent and a dirty 6％ dessert that can feel painful if you have had to give too much before.
One of the nicest climbs in the region!
Veel beter alternatief dan de Posbank; autovrij. Begint heel eenvoudig op een brede weg, die steeds donkerder wordt door de bossen. Na wat flauwe bochtjes begint het smaller en steiler te worden. Na de bocht naar links wordt het echt steil tot aan het bruggetje. De weg is nauwelijks 2 meter breed met stuwwallen aan weerszijden. Mooie ervaring.
Daarna een stukje dalen en nog een vies toetje van 6％ dat pijnlijk kan aanvoelen als je daarvoor teveel hebt moeten geven.

Whether it was the autumn, the steep percentage, the peace, the nice bridge or the hollow road that makes this climb so beautiful? No idea, but this one scores 10 points in all. Via the Posbank, you ride into the Veluwe, because of the name or the Giro finish line at the top. However, via Rozenbos/Holleweg you go up to enjoy the fact that you are on a racing bike. I can count on 1 hand the times in the Netherlands that I have enjoyed a climb so much!
Of het de herfst was, het venijnige percentage, de rust, het mooie bruggetje of de holle weg die deze klim zo mooi maakt? Geen idee, maar deze scoort in alles 10 punten. Via de Posbank de Veluwe op rijden doe je om de naam of de Giro Finishlijn bovenaan. Echter, via Rozenbos/Holleweg omhoog doe je om te genieten van het feit dat je op een racefiets zit. De keren dat ik in Nederland zo heb genoten van een klimmetje zijn op 1 hand te tellen!
Great to cycle up here. The road is narrow, but that makes the climb so beautiful. You scrape up along the trees. No motorized traffic, which makes the experience really special.
Geweldig om hier naar boven te fietsen. De weg is smal, maar dat maakt de klim nu zo mooi. Je schuurt langs de bomen omhoog. Geen gemotoriseerd verkeer, wat de ervaring echt bijzonder maakt.
What a wonderful climb and what a rascal! It starts subtly ascending, so you think you can get up the climb at pace. Then it gets narrower and darker in the forest and the scenery becomes more beautiful, and the road steeper. Still trying to keep up the pace, so you don't shift down too much. Then there is a small bend to the right and it appears that the real climb is yet to come. Another turn to the left and it gets even steeper. After the bridge salvation comes in the form of a flattening of the road. To the junction you can change gear and speed up, but you have to be careful there. You have right of way, but you don't always get it, because you are only visible for crossing traffic. A quick turn to the left, keep up the pace and go through the last corner. Lovely piece of road, one of the most beautiful places in the Veluwe, not least because after the 'top' you will be rewarded with a view over the heathland of the Veluwezoom and kilometres beyond.
Wat een heerlijke klim en wat een rakker! Het begint subtiel stijgend, dus je denkt dat je op tempo de klim op kunt. Dan wordt het in het bos smaller en donkerder en de omgeving mooier, en de weg steiler. Nog steeds probeer je tempo te houden dus je schakelt niet te veel terug. Dan komt een knikje naar rechts en blijkt dat de echte stijging nog moet komen. Nog een bocht naar links en het wordt nog steiler. Dan komt na de brug de verlossing in de vorm van het afvlakken van de weg. Naar de kruising kun je opschakelen en snelheid maken, al moet je daar wel goed opletten. Je hebt voorrang, maar krijgt het niet altijd omdat je slechts zichtbaar bent voor kruisend verkeer. Een snelle bocht naar links, tempo houden en die laatste bocht doorknallen. Heerlijk stuk weg, een van de mooiste plekken van de Veluwe, niet in het minst omdat je na de 'top' beloond wordt met een uitzicht over het heidegebied van de Veluwezoom en kilometers ver daarachter.
One of the many ways to get to the top of the Veluwe. VOoral beautiful in the autumn. Like everything else in the area nowhere very difficult, but by the length and the environment a certainty when you're in the area.
Een van de vele manieren om boven op de Veluwe te komen. VOoral mooi in de herfst. Zoals alles in de omgeving nergens heel moeilijk, maar door de lengte en de omgeving een zekerheidje wanneer je in de buurt bent.

Forget that much too busy Posbank: this is the one you must do. No cars, very quiet in the woods and indeed an assassin. Is this already false flat uphill or is there something going on, I thought the first time. And then you see the wooden footbridge in the distance and you know that this piece there is going to hurt. Delightful!
Vergeet die veel te drukke Posbank: deze moet je op. Geen auto's, heel stil in het bos en inderdaad een sluipmoordenaar. Is dit nu al vals plat omhoog of loopt er iets aan, dacht ik de eerste keer. En dan zie je in de verte de houten loopbrug en weet je dat dat stuk daar pijn gaat doen. Heerlijk!
The Rozenbos is one of the gems of the Veluwezoom. As a descent not recommended (often wet and loose leaves, and MT'ers who cross the course), but as a climb a recommendation. Against slightly rising percentages is started o via a right and a left turn to reach the apotheosis. Where the MTB'ers fly over you (bridge), the Rozenbos reaches here its maximum steepness. Nice to stand on the pedals for a while. A typical, beautiful hollow road. South Limburg in miniature.
De Rozenbos is een van de pareltjes van de Veluwezoom. Als afdaling af te raden(vaak nat en losse bladeren, alsmede MT'ers die het parcours kruisen), maar als klim een aanbeveling. Tegen licht stijgende percentages wordt er begonnen o via een rechtse en een linkse bocht de apotheose te bereiken. Daar waar de MTB 'ers over je heen vliegen(bruggetje) bereikt de Rozenbos hier zijn maximale steiging. Lekker om even op de trappers te gaan staan. Een typische, fraaie holleweg. Zuid-Limburg in het klein.
What a beautiful climb. A quiet run and halfway ff stumbling to arrive at the top with sour legs. The high walls between which you ride is really great to see, what really gives you an extra incentive. Many talk about the Zijpenberg (rightly so) and the Posbank, but this one really belongs between them.
Wat een prachtige klim. Een rustige aanloop en halverwege ff stoempen om boven toch met zure benen aan te komen. De hoge aardwallen waar je tussen rijd is echt geweldig om te zien, wat je echt een extra stimulans geeft. Velen hebben het over de Zijpenberg(terecht) en de Posbank, maar deze hoort er echt tussen.
As far as I am concerned, this is the nicest and most beautiful climb of the Veluwezoom and indeed a hidden gem. The climb starts in the Steeg, between beautiful chapels and runs on a good car-free asphalt road with percentages around three percent up. The temptation is great to ramble against it with great resistance, but then you can get hurt in the end. When the road turns sharper to the left, the most beautiful and steepest part follows: a beautiful hollow road invites you to get out of the saddle and welcome the pedestrian bridge as a kind of finish arch. But beware: if you want to cycle the whole Rozenbos, turn left on the Beekhuizenseweg and continue the climb via the second part of the Hullekesberg. So keep some of your powder dry.
Wat mij betreft de allerleukste en mooiste klim van de Veluwezoom en inderdaad ook een verborgen pareltje. De klim begint vals plat in de Steeg, tussen fraaie kapitale villas en loopt via een prima autovrije asfaltweg met percentages rond de drie procent omhoog. De verleiding is groot om hier op groot verzet tegenop te rammen, maar dan kan je jezelf in het eindstuk nog lelijk tegenkomen. Als de weg scherper naar links draait volgt het mooiste en steilste stuk: een prachtige holle weg die je uitnodigt om op uit het zadel te komen en de voetgangersbrug als een soort finishboog te verwelkomen. Maar let op: als je het Rozenbos helemaal wilt fietsen sla je op de Beekhuizenseweg linksaf en vervolg je de klim via het tweede deel van de Hullekesberg. Houd daarom nog iets van je kruit droog.
Personally the nicest climb of the Veluwezoom. Starts like many climbs here with false flat, but as the walls get higher, the percentage rises considerably.
Persoonlijk het leukste klimmetje van de Veluwezoom. Begint zoals vele klimmetjes hier met vals plat, maar naar mate de wanden hoger worden, stijgt het percentage flink.
Through climbfinder I came across this unknown climb and added it to my ride today. The Rose Forest is truly a gem that shouldn't be missing from your ride!
The climb is like a sly fox, you start on a wide road with easy percentages. As you enter the forest, the road gets a bit narrower and the percentages start to climb. Towards the end you cycle between two high earth walls and the percentages go up to 10％. If you go under the cyclist bridge, you are at the end of the climb and you can choose whether you go left on the Holleweg or via cycle paths (also beautiful) to continue your route.
The Rozenbos climb is car free and very quiet. On a beautiful summer day in July, I didn't meet anyone along the way. The road surface is fantastic, smooth asphalt without stones. Justly called a hidden gem!
Door climbfinder kwam ik deze onbekende klim tegen en heb ik hem toegevoegd aan mijn rit van vandaag. De Rozenbos is echt een pareltje die niet in je rit mag ontbreken!
De klim is als een sluwe vos, je begint op een brede weg met gemakkelijke percentages. Als je het bos in rijdt wordt de weg wat smaller en gaan de percentages al wat omhoog. Richting het einde fiets je tussen twee hoge aarden wallen en gaan de percentages richting de 10％. Als je onder de fietsersbrug door gaat ben je aan het einde van de klim en kan je kiezen of je linksaf gaat de Holleweg op of via fietspaden (ook prachtig) je route voort te zetten.
De Rozenbos klim is autovrij en is zeer rustig. Op een mooie zomerdag in juli kwam ik onderweg niemand tegen. Het wegdek is fantastisch, glad asfalt zonder steentjes. Met recht een verborgen pareltje genoemd!
For me the most beautiful road and toughest climb on the Veluwezoom. Beautiful hollow road, quiet approach with a vicious final shot.
Voor mij de mooiste weg en pittigste klim op de Veluwezoom. Prachtige holle weg, rustige aanloop met een venijnig eindschot.
