8/10 Perhaps it wasn't a 10/10 because of the weather but it was a nice and challenging climb! Good road surface all over the climb and traffic wasn't super bad. It's not really a famous name (in my opinion) but it's worth a name in terms of effort. Not for nothing 1102 climbing points lol. The slightly flatter bit (in between the steep sections) came in handy. By the way, the first part still goes through the village of Imst, less inspiring but fortunately it doesn't la... read more

The descent towards Elmen is a gift!

Great route, tough because of very long, constantly steep climbs. Fantastic views, traffic unfortunately not so great.

Tolle Strecke, hart, weil sehr lange konstant steile Anstiege. Aussicht traumhaft, Verkehr leider nicht so super.

One of the most beautiful passes in the area. The start from Imst (through a residential area) and first few (steep) kilometres through the forest do not leave an unforgettable impression, but from the moment I see in the distance the road you are going to climb yourself, the valley opens up and the climb is reminiscent of the Col dAubisque (from the Col de Soulor). Many wonderful climbing kilometres follow, with a viciously steep stretch to the pass at the end. The views at the pass itself are not spectacular, but all that is completely made up for by the fantastic impressions you have just had. 5 big stars!!! The ubiquitous motorbike traffic does not detract from this.

This is one of those passes off the beaten track. I rode it in July on a Sunday morning and the traffic was low but rising during the morning. The climb is steep in places and not entirely easy but the scenery is lovely and the road quality is very good. The road first climbs out of Imst through forest and meadows with varying degrees of incline. After you turn the corner into the valley that leads to the pass it hugs the rocky roadside and rises in many steep ramps high above the valley floor to the top. There is a little flat section to catch your breath.
On the way down be aware of a number of cattle grids on the road.
Overall, this is a really nice pass to ride.

Firm climb from Imst with some irregularities, big parts with percentages above 10% alternated with smaller less steep parts. You can see the pass 3km in advance with a lot of climbing to do and if you are unlucky, a strong headwind.
The road can be quite busy with tourist traffic, but most trucks are prohibited. The scenery is beautiful with debris fans. Especially the descent on the other side is beautiful.
In short, very worthwhile
