Nice climb, with nice inclines. Long stretches in the woods and also nice views.
Nice climb, good road condition, mostly through forest
A long climb that runs well, but doesn't really have any really nice views so you can't really look away and enjoy the scenery (except for a bit around the town of prints). The road meanders uphill and there are only a few hairpin turns in the last part of the climb. This makes the descent from the summit to Lana incredibly enjoyable and nowhere do you have to brake really hard. The asphalt is of excellent condition.
Ascent from the South Tyrolean side of the pass
Not very difficult, fairly heavy traffic even during the week, decent panorama even if you often stay under cover
Ascent on a beautiful road surface through the Val Passiria. I didn't find it very pleasant, however: the gradient is never excessive but as there is not a metre of level ground the fatigue is uninterrupted, moreover there are few bends and even fewer hairpin bends, so you suffer a little from monotony.
The best views are before 1,000 metres, in particular Gfrill (Caprile) is an enchanting place. From there to the pass, you travel through the forest and, although wonderful, the climb becomes a little repetitive. At the pass there is little to see, so a good climb for the body but not the most exciting adventure you can have on the South Tyrolean roads.
Nice climb if you come from Merano and Lana. Not too difficult, no really steep sections (12+deg).
