This climb starts in a quite challenging % right out of the town of Nalles. Until you reach the less steep part expect more than 14% and definitely not for beginners. If you decide to bail out after the hardest part and turn back from the way you just climb, make sure you're carefully as the asphalt on that section is always humid and bit slippery. Nice if you have the legs and lungs for it. Shady in the summer afternoons, but microclimate makes it bit humid.... read more

To try a climb without any real experience in it, this was a bit too much for me. From Nals on it was so steep that I had to drop out. Tried to keep a high cadence and in the murderous heat, it was soon done. Turned around and recognized my superior. (With the promise to get some more climbing experience and come back in the future)

Luminol describes it perfectly. Killer first 2.5km from Nals. I was in Nals so I started the steepest part without warming up. If you get past that and turn left after Nauran to the gampenpass route, it's a gradual climb of another 12.5km on wide road and easy to do.

Luminol beschrijft het perfect. Moordende eerste 2.5km vanuit Nals.

Climbed this climb in the summer of 2021. Even before the climb starts there are fruit orchards around Nals to warm you up. The start of the climb is killer, although 12% is indicated on Climbfinder there are a lot of open parts with 14-15% in between. So expect a lot of pedalling.

Once you're in the village (there's a fountain where you can refill your water bottles), it flattens out for a bit and you can recover. From there on it is a gradual climb without really difficult parts. Unfortunately no nice view because of the forest, also a lot of traffic from the village.
