It is indeed possible to turn left at the junction with Bossenaarstraat. You then climb another 50 metres before you reach the highest point. That is the way they did it recently in the Tour of Belgium. However, we have chosen to continue the climb to the right, so that you climb to the full summit, with more than 20 extra altimeters.... read more

Alternative to Taaienberg, no cobbles and much less steep.

The best thing about this climb is looking to the left and great views of the climbs there (Heksenkouter, Stationsberg ed.) - 3 stars for that! Still, better take Taaienberg

- daarvoor 3 sterren! Maar toch beter Taaienberg nemen

You only get up here if you go to Taaienberg, see the cobbles and panic and turn left. You then go around the Taaienberg in an arc on a nasty concrete track. So it's not the prettiest climb and if you want to avoid Taaienberg, there are other alternatives.

If you don't fancy Taaienberg, you can quickly turn left before it really starts. This climb gives nice views and runs on a moderate road surface.

I think this climb of the Fortstraat is wrongly drawn; halfway at the crossroads with the Bossenaarstraat you should not turn right, but left. The top is then actually 100 metres just before that "chiquane bend", just after the turn to the left. Is it possible that this can be adjusted?
