Wenn man dann beim Schmugglerdenkmal auf der Staatsgrenze angekommen ist, empfiehlt sich die lange Abfahrt nach Eupen (B), die durch die beeindruckende Moorlandschaft des Hohen Venns führt.

Na de bocht is het vrijwel uitfietsen al blijft de weg stijgen tot het monument op het eind. Prima asfalt en de drukte valt mee ondanks dat de weg best breed is. Het stuk na de rotonde tot aan de bebouwde kom is landschappelijk mooi.
