This climb starts away as soon as you turn off busy road between Houffalize and La Roche towards Bonnerue. The first part is on fine tarmac through a densely forested area. As soon as you enter the open plain, you enjoy nice views. Remains slightly uphill afterwards.
A much better alternative than the Grande Mormont if you come from Houffalize.
Deze klim begint weg zodra je drukke baan tussen Houffalize en La Roche afdraait richting Bonnerue. Het eerste deel gaat over prima asfalt door een dicht bebost gebied. Zodra je in de open vlakte komt, geniet je van een mooi uitzicht. Blijft nadien nog lichtjes oplopen.
Een veel beter alternatief dan de Grande Mormont als je van Houffalize komt.
This climb is familiar from the most recent editions of the LBL. A beautiful climb that challenges you right in the forest. During my ascent, I did not encounter any traffic and was thus able to enjoy the peace and quiet while cycling steadily towards the upper hamlet of Bonnerue. By the way, after the hamlet, the climb continues via quite a bit of false flat, so there is no relaxation until the next hamlet of Vellereux.
Deze klim is bekend van de meest recente edities van de LBL. Een mooie klim die je direct in het bos al uitdaagt. Tijdens mijn beklimming ben ik geen verkeer tegengekomen en kon ik dus ook ongestoord genieten van de rust terwijl je gestaag naar het hogergelegen gehucht Bonnerue fietst. Overigens trekt de klim na het gehucht nog via een flink stuk vals plat door, dus van ontspanning is geen sprake tot aan het volgende gehucht Vellereux.
What nice road surface alone does. I think it was resurfaced last year or the year before. It runs fantastically, partly because of the road surface and partly because of the friendly gradients. The scenery is wooded at first and then you find yourself in a more meadow-like landscape. Via a wide bend you ride towards Bonnerue. All in all, highly recommended! Especially as a descent too.
Wat lekker wegdek alleen al doet. Volgens mij is deze vorig jaar of het jaar daarvoor opnieuw geasfalteerd. Hij loopt fantastisch, mede door het wegdek en mede door de vriendelijke stijgingspercentages. De omgeving is in het begin bosachtig en daarna bevind je je in een meer weideachtig landschap. Via een ruime bocht rijd je richting Bonnerue. Al met al een echte aanrader! Zeker ook als afdaling.
Start from the hillside on the Ressiwé bridge over the river Outhe. Start of the hillside under the cover of vegetation, very nice view on the Ourthe valley if you take the trouble to turn around before arriving at the first houses. The pavement has just been completely redone 😊.
Départ de la côte sur le pont de Renssiwé qui enjambe l'Ourthe. Début de côte a flanc de colline sous le couvert de la végétation, très belle vue sur la vallée de l'Ourthe si on prend la peine de se retourner avant d'arriver au premières habitations. Le revêtement viens d'être entièrement refait 😊.
This is the traditional route of the Tilff-Bastogne-Tilff hike. It is not very steep, but winding and pleasant. It starts at the edge of the Ourthe in the forest and ends in a very open country landscape. Beautiful views to the rear.
Côte traditionnellement empruntée par la randonnée Tilff-Bastogne-Tilff. Peu pentue, mais sinueuse et agréable, elle part du bord de l'Ourthe dans la forêt pour déboucher dans un paysage champêtre très dégagé. Belles vues vers l'arrière.
