Done in the snow and in a strong wind, so it was a fun plus otherwise, there are definitely better things around.... read more

Done in the snow and in a strong wind, so it was a fun plus otherwise, there are definitely better things around.

Done it again today and quite a nice and beautiful climb.
The road is narrow and a bit dirty the first few hundred metres because of the farmer who lives at the start of the climb. There are quite a few tough pieces in it. I also added some photos.

Nice climb in a beautiful region where you have a lot of climbs similar to this one except the col de la Chaudiere . The road surface is as usual in this region not super (the small roads) but certainly not bad.
The road twists and turns constantly . I did this climb in 2020 from more than halfway the climb of the col de Pertuis and that's fun because before you get to the foot of the col de Boutière the road is constantly going up and down and sometimes very steep. In Truinas you also have a fantastic B &B " Le Saint Maurice " . The col de Boutiere is a col with varying gradients. Every 700 to 800 meters there is a steeper part up to 10% and after that a little less and almost flat. Also the road turns constantly. Once you are on top you can go left to Bourdeaux where the beautiful Col de la Chaudiere is located with 11km of climbing and almost 6% with even 2km at 9.4%.
