A great and extremely steep climb that you should definitely include in your plans when cycling around Stolberg. Although the narrow, asphalted path is a little bumpy in places, it is almost completely free of cars and shaded by trees, so that you have peace and quiet and can concentrate solely on mastering the 2-digit ascent percentage throughout. At the end of the ascent, the path merges smoothly into a traffic-calmed road that extends all the way to Aachener Straße. The road surface is good ... read more

A very strenuous climb, but in my opinion highly recommended due to the gradient.

After a bumpy start, the small path takes you straight into the high percentage points. These only get lower slowly and you have to work hard all the way up to the residential area.

A wonderful calf-biter which goes up from a beautiful stream valley and can compete with the most painful climbs in South Limburg. The approach route along the Inde to the bridge is beautiful but unfortunately very bumpy but there are several ways to get to the start.
The climb itself I found somewhat similar to the Doodeman / Dodeman, only the Dickenbruch is a bit shorter - and steeper. Here there is also a bench halfway which is an excellent aiming point. After that it gets a little lighter but the legs are already protesting heavily. At the houses you think you're there but except for some flatter parts (at the side roads) it still goes up very steeply until you reach the main road. This road has the bike path on the left side so you can continue unhindered to the end (which is only a short distance to cycle out (and mainly reduces the average percentage of this climb ;-)).
The asphalt (car-free, there are posts) of the climb itself is reasonable to good, but there are some bumps by tree roots and between the houses is a bit worse. The leaves and twigs (in autumn) ensure that standing climb soon causes a slipping rear tire.
Four or five stars? Difficult because it is not really around the corner or in a popular area. However, if you like extremely steep climbs, I would definitely come this way and do this climb ... and some other super steep climbs in Stolberg. So 5 stars nonetheless.

Vier of vijf sterren? Toch 5 sterren dus.
