If you drive around in the area north of Mheer, you will almost constantly see a strikingly solid bump to the east of you, with a farm on top. The mill road (near the farm is the remains of a mill) runs against it in a fairly straight line and you will feel that. To get to the start you can take a good gravel road (Oude Straat) or, if you only want to walk over asphalt, descend (after having climbed a bit first) from Banholt. Beautiful views on descent, nice road surface, tough climb. Downhill indeed turning because of the gravel. Fun to do!

I can totally follow Fedor in his description. If you are in the area by road bike, definitely worth riding back and forth down and otherwise just via the Old Street. Nice climb!

Leuke klim!

The latter is really recommended because in the descent you have a really beautiful and wide view up to the Maas valley. So don't let the fact that this is a back-and-forth climb hold you back.
The climb itself: You can see the barn of the farm just below, so you also have a target. What you also see is a nice and slightly winding road that goes almost straight up the slope (you will have noticed the percentages in the descent). This is going to be hard work and it is. The steep part of the climb is not very long but the percentages are not bad. Because of the course of the road, it is a nice climb. The road eventually flattens out a bit and the highest point is at the farm (it is clearly noticeable). To Banholt it is then slightly descending. The road is in remarkably good (and clean) condition, especially considering the fact that it is actually a dead-end farm road.
