Absolute highlight, a cobbled climb with a beautiful view of Liege and its rural surroundings at the end. At the beginning of the climb you can avoid the cobblestones with a concrete strip in the middle, but after a left and right turn you will have to face them for the last few hundred meters. Fortunately, in the middle of the cobblestone strip there is a narrow strip of well-placed cobblestones, so even that strip is not insurmountable. The view there is really beautiful. Aan het begin van de klim kun je de kasseien overigens ontwijken door een betonstrook die in het midden is aangelegd, maar na een knik naar links en weer naar rechts zul je er de laatste paar honderd meters toch echt aan moeten geloven. Gelukkig ligt in het midden van de kasseienstrook een smal strookje goed geplaatste kasseien, dus ook die strook is noet onoverkomelijk. Het uitzicht is daar werkelijk prachtig. Een absolute aanrader dus!!

Once you get to that one, you ride up through the fields on the plateau and there they are indeed lousy. With a bit of bad luck, the wind also plays tricks on you there. A quiet climb with many faces, possibly to combine with the Ravel, for which you should definitely make a detour!
Prachtig stukje klimmen dit! Door de agglomeratie rijdt je vrij snel door een groene omgeving omhoog waar de huizen zich steeds meer beginnen in te wisselen voor adembenemende verzichten op rechts. Midden het eerste stuk kasseien liggen er betonnen platen, dus die kan je perfect ontwijken, maar voor de volgende sector "pavés" mag je dat vergeten. Eens je die aansnijdt, rijdt je door de velden op het plateau naar boven en daar liggen ze inderdaad erbarmelijk bij. Met een beetje pech speelt de wind je daar ook parten. Een rustig klimmetje met veel gezichten, eventueel te combineren met de Ravel, waar je beslist voor mag omrijden !

Prachtige klim! Wat mij betreft de lekkerste van de dag (met daarin ook Rue Tesny, Haute Folie en Drolenval). Je merkt bovenin nauwelijks dat het 10％ is, zo gefocust ben je op het recht houden van je fiets op de vreselijk liggende kasseien. De afdaling is typisch Belgisch, levensgevaarlijk, slecht asfalt en continu afwateringshobbels. Desondanks absoluut een aanrader, kasseien in Wallonië!
