Excellent tarmac, quite brisk sections and green surroundings with frequent nice views in the first part. The second part is a runner through the forest but the slope next to you is often clearly visible and the road winds continuously. Really enjoy this climb.
Uitstekend asfalt, flink pittige stukken en een groene omgeving met in het eerste deel regelmatig mooie uitzichten. Het tweede deel is een loper door het bos maar de helling naast je is vaak goed zichtbaar en de weg kronkelt continue. Echt genieten deze klim.
Did this climb last Sunday with my cycling club during a ride to Banneux. The first part of the climb is fine. The devil is mainly in the middle part. It is indicated that 14％ is the maximum gradient. Several cyclists in our group saw on their GPS that 20％ was briefly touched. The last part of the climb continues nicely. If this climb seems too hard, it would be better to ride from Fraipont to Banneux via Rue du Doyard.
Deze klim afgelopen zondag met mijn fietsclub gedaan tijdens een rit naar Banneux. Het eerste stuk van de klim is prima te doen. Het venijn zit h'm vooral in het middelste deel. Er wordt aangegeven dat 14％ het maximale stijgingspercentage is. Diverse fietsers in onze groep zagen op hun GPS dat even 20％ werd aangetikt. Het laatste deel loopt de klim verder lekker. Lijkt deze klim je te zwaar dan kan je vanuit Fraipont beter via Rue du Doyard naar Banneux rijden.
Truly a beautiful climb, the climb winds upwards at pleasant percentages except for 2 steeper sections. On the Vedder climbs it is rather exceptional, but here you have very nice views!
Werkelijk een prachtige klim, de klim kronkelt naar boven tegen aangename percentages uitgezonderd 2 steilere passages. Bij de Vedder beklimmingen is het eerder uitzonderlijk, maar hier heb je erg mooie zichten!
Usually I drive to Banneux from Nessonvaux. Yesterday I decided to do the variant from Fraipont and that was a good choice.
The views are much nicer, the road surface is much better and the 14-15-16％ piece makes this climb just that bit more challenging than the one from Nessonvaux.
From now on, I prefer to ride via Fraipont instead of from Nessonvaux.
Meestal rijd ik naar Banneux vanuit Nessonvaux. Gisteren besloot ik een keertje de variant vanuit Fraipont aan te doen en dat was een goede keuze.
Het uitzicht is veel mooier, het wegdek is veel beter en het stukje aan 14-15-16％ maakt deze klim toch net dat beetje meer uitdagend dan de loper vanuit Nessonvaux.
Vanaf nu rijd ik liever via Fraipont ipv vanuit Nessonvaux.
Nice varied climb. From the village of Fraipont you climb between meadows and forests. Very irregular and at its steepest just before the hamlet halfway up the climb. After this it gets easier.
Mooie afwisselende klim. Vanuit het dorp Fraipont klim je tussen weilanden en stukken bos omhoog. Erg onregelmatig en op zijn steilst vlak voor het gehucht halverwege de klim. Hierna wordt het makkelijker.
The Trasenster hill is climbed either from the west or north side. The one climbed from the west side is 4.7km long and the most difficult because of its steepness (departure from the high street in Fraipont) while the other one is a bit easier and is 3.3km long (departure from the station in Nessonvaux).
Both of them meet at the road to Banneux, that is to say +/- 1.4 km from the top of the hill. PS: the start of the west coast Trasenster hill passes in front of the foot of the very fearsome steppe hill, made for real climbers.
La côte de Trasenster monté soit par le côté ouest ou nord . Celle monté par le côté ouest fait 4.7km la plus difficile par ses pourcentages (départ rue haute à Fraipont ) tandis que l'autre un peu plus facile fait de 3.3km de long ( départ gare de Nessonvaux)).
Toutes les deux se rejoignent à la route de Banneux c'est à dire à +/1.4 km du sommet de la côte .PS : le départ de la côte de Trasenster côte ouest passe devant le pied de la très redoutable côte des steppes fait pour les véritables grimpeurs
Lovely climb, first part has steep parts and beautiful views. And the last part to Banneux is a runner, all on nice asphalt. If you turn right in the direction of Banneux and then immediately turn left again, you'll encounter a wonderfully steeper, quiet stretch. More beautiful than the busy road!
Zalige klim, eerste stuk heeft steile stukken en prachtige uitzichten. En stuk op de weg naar Banneux is een loper, allemaal op mooi asfalt. Als je rechts opdraait richting Banneux en dan meteen weer links opdraait, kom je nog een heerlijk steiler, rustig stuk tegen. Mooier dan de drukke weg!
Fantastic climb. Quiet road, beautiful scenery, asphalt mostly good. Do not underestimate, very long with several steep sections!

Nice climb that is not too difficult (compared to other killers in the area). The second part is the best part with a nice piece of new tarmac.
Leuke klim die niet al te moeilijk is (in vergelijking met andere killers in de omgeving). Het tweede deel is het mooiste deel met daarbij een mooi stuk nieuw asfalt.

Horrible! With my 25 rear wheel I didn't make it to the top (I'm 67 though).
Verschrikkelijk! Met m'n 25 achter kwam ik niet boven ( ben wel 67 hè) volgende keer maar een 28 nemen.
