From Saarburg, it goes up with some sharp bends on a connecting road through mainly forest, sometimes offering some views. In Kähren (or rather, just before the houses), you turn sharply right and then continue slightly undulating upwards, with a slight incline at the end. So in terms of climbing this stretch doesn't offer much, but in terms of views it is all the more beautiful.
Vanuit Saarburg gaat het met enkele flinke bochten over een verbindingsweg door vooral bos omhoog waarbij je soms wel wat uitzicht hebt. In Kahren (of eigenlijk vlak voor de huizen) ga je scherp rechtsaf waarna het lichtjes golvend verder omhoog gaat met op het eind nog een hellinkje. Qua klimmen biedt dit stukje dus niet zo veel maar qua uitzicht des te meer want dat is erg fraai.
