A good ascent, which initially runs through a residential area and a small industrial area and initially also includes a few smaller descents; after the last descent in the industrial area, you can look forward to 1 kilometre of climbing with 2 hairpins.

Nice route, out of the Walloon country towards the Eifel. Last part is the most difficult with two nice bends.

A very nice climb on good asphalt. In Raeren itself you can ride twice and then you can give back some of the altimeters in two small descents. After the second descent you see a huge ramp stretching out in front of you with the end not even in sight. That is a bit hard to swallow. Fortunately, the Vennbahn interrupts the straight and you soon see the bend at the end. But it takes a while to get there, with the percentages slightly going up as well. Two nice hairpin bends follow, after which it's down to the transmitter mast. For descending this is also a nice one, especially the upper part.
There is little traffic, but some drivers want to ride fast on the straight. In the curves it is nice and clean. The largest part you drive through a pine forest so the views are very limited.

Dat is even slikken.

Really a climb in steps, of which I see the last part as the real climb. The climb itself done as the farthest point in a round trip from Aachen. Especially the last part is a real climb, you leave the village and cycle nicely through the forest. After the series of curves you're at the top. You cross the Vennbahn several times, that is also a beautiful bike path to go back to, nice 1-2% downhill.

Lovely climb to start with (if you start from Roetgen for example). The road was quite quiet when we were there at the end of July. Not too steep, not too flat. You cycle through the forest and get two hairpin bends as a gift. A good start of a beautiful trip through the northern Eifel.
