Le Pré Marcel is an important starting point for a number of popular alpine hikes in the region. The forest road leading to it is shady, in generally good condition despite numerous gullies running diagonally across the road (watch out for these on the way back down), very irregular and sporty. It can be summed up as a succession of very steep walls interspersed with less steep sections.
A special feature: the last three hairpins are covered in a curious striated concrete. There are also some Easter Island-style heads carved into the wood shortly after the start of the route.
