For the most part a really beautiful climb - if you can still enjoy that after the first really absurdly steep and therefore tough kilometres on the Rua do Comboio and the Caminho de Ferro, after which it happily keeps on climbing.
If you survive those kilometres, a really beautiful route follows, first over a main road and then it gets even more beautiful when you enter the Eco-park (both the entrance and the exit have a gate but with a little dismounting you can always get past that) then you follow a narrow and (almost) deserted - and sometimes quite tough - tarmac road through beautiful surroundings. After getting back on the main road, there are a few more beautiful and relatively relaxed kilometres to the summit.
Because of the beautiful surroundings, the for the most part good tarmac and of course the extreme difficulty 5 stars.
However, if you want to enjoy it even more, you can bypass the steep section via the - also pretty tough - main road, but of course you will miss some climbing points.
