I started my climb in Ponto Valentino, making the climb 22,2 km long with a 1271 m height difference (5,7%). The first part from Ponto Valentino to the main road is relatively steep (c. 8%). The landscape is superb.

long climb when you start in Biasca. I started at 8 o clock, but it took me almost 4 hours to reach the top of the Passo. It is more ore less around 40k while gaining more then 1400 meter in altitude.

The middle section is the steepest, but not too steep. Many viewpoints during the climb and places to stop. On tht top you get a nice view of the lake. When you go further towards Disentis you road still gains some altitude in the tunnel.

Climb made several times (both in winter and summer). The climb does not present any particular difficulties except for its length, especially if you start from Biasca. The road winds along the Blenio valley, which can be admired, together with the surrounding mountains, during the ascent. The road is wide and with wide bends, the road surface is good. I strongly recommend, if you tackle the ascent from Biasca, to manage your strength on the climbs that you will find in the valley leading to Olivone, where the actual ascent begins, otherwise you will risk going into crisis on the climb.
Note that the pass is open all year round, so it is possible to make the ascent in winter between two walls of snow (beautiful), but inquire beforehand because the pass is occasionally closed due to avalanche risk.
Several fountains along the ascent and a hospice with a bar/restaurant at the summit.
