The 3rd stage of the Vuelta started nearby, in Lousã. I went there to take a photo with former world champion Rui Costa and watch the match. It's a shame the Vuelta doesn't pass through a Portuguese mountain. The Portuguese fans deserved it.
I enjoyed the trip and came to see this incredible climb, which not long ago had been the end of the stage on the way back to Portugal. There were still traces on the road of support for cyclists.
As for the climb... It's incredible, only for those who are well prepared, with very hard ramps and also some rest points that ease the average slope. No traffic and good asphalt.
Mandatory for all cyclists in the region.
