I was a little disappointed by the Mont Salève, though. The road is good, the bends graceful and perfect for the descent. The panoramic view, just before the sign for the Col des Pitons, is interesting. But the climb is boring. A good part of the climb is done in the shade of the trees and there's nothing to see. The gradients are gentle. At the top, for urbex enthusiasts, there's an abandoned restaurant. It's a pleasant climb, but it's not exactly hair-raising. Three s... read more

Three stars for the descent and the view over the mountain range.

Gentle, easy climb is covered by trees in its entirety, on smooth tarmac, with very little motor traffic. Beautiful views from the top to both Geneva and Annecy sides of the col.

This is a nice climb. Not too steep and on a clear day, a view of the Mont Banc massif.
Recommended to descend on the east side and cycle back to Crusseilles.
Also along the foot of the Saleve massif, the view is great.
