A very nice climb with a road in good condition. However, compared with the route suggested by Climbfinder, the last road that passes the source of Ste Odile is one-way. It's therefore only practical on the way down and this section is in poor condition. For the ascent, therefore, you need to go round the Bloss crossroads.... read more

Somehow found my way up from Barr via Ottrot! It was a great climb with a few fellow sufferers along the way. The vehicles always overtook the cyclists with respect. Perhaps St Odile contributed to this with a sense of proportion? The tarte flambée at the top in front of the monastery was also very tasty.

A lovely climb in the shade on a good surface, with little traffic.
First you pass the foot of Mont Saint Odile through the beautiful Niedermunster valley before joining the ascent of Mont Saint Odile from Barr after a few hairpin bends.

A very good surface, not much traffic during the week but careful at the weekend, a pass in the shade, so perfect when it's hot. I would recommend

Nice climb, lots of shade.
Ideal for people who don't often ride up climbs.

A very nice climb through the forest, with little traffic, especially in the morning.
A few sections with some gradients but overall a fairly easy climb.
The road is wide and has a good surface.
There are several possible routes along the way (continue up to the mountain, descend to Barr or continue towards the Rothlach or the Champ du Feu).

Excellent surfacing. In the shade in the forest. Done fairly early on a Saturday morning, with little traffic. Lovely view from the sanctuary once you reach the summit.

Clearly the best side for climbing Mont Saint Odile, in the forest most of the time, with a lovely view ... at the start and at the finish! Some nice hairpins and steep sections

A classic of the region, with a beautiful view at the end. This side is the most frequented and can be loaded by car in summer.
The descent is recommended to Klingenthal, with a nice road less winding and less frequented.

Very nice short climb. Didn't do the Otrott-SaintNabor part, coming from East. The view on the top is really nice, the road is OK, I really enjoyed this one !

This is a very nice climb on the way to a busy monastery. The climb takes you through a forest and is quite irregular. The first four kilometers are pretty tough, then it softens. The climb is never really hard. The climb goes through a forest, so you have much shelter on hot days. The road surface is good. There is some tourist traffic, but I did the climb on Sunday afternoon for 4 hours. About at peak time I guess. It didn't bother me, so any other time of the week it will probably be okay too. In the monastery is a kiosk where they sell ice cold drinks.
NB: when I arrived at the top it turned out I had a slow deflation. While fixing my tires, a friendly gendarme offered to help me. How cool!

Hoe tof!
