A beginner cyclotourist who loves hills but is afraid of descents, I recommend this climb, which is impressive (what a slope!) but manageable if you don't force yourself: wind, wind, wind. I really want to do it again, and to discover other passes, of the same type but longer. In May, I'll try the Ballon d'Alsace via Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle (9 km around 7% average).

The slope cannot be missed and is visible from afar from all directions with the distinctive antennae on top. Both from a sporting and aesthetic point of view it is a magnificent slope. In terms of percentages and length it certainly belongs to the more difficult climbs in the region and the views and hairpins make the climb complete. Disadvantage is that it is a known tourist destination, so there is a lot of traffic going up. Be sure to ride up to the antennas at the top for the full height meters and the view of the surroundings.

Even without a bike, the slope is worth a visit, because from the parking lot at the top you can descend (walking) to the famous chalk cliffs of the Cap Blanc Nez.
