Difficult climb (especially the end) but pleasant due to the lack of traffic. After descending to Escalles, I climbed up to Cap Blanc-Nez and enjoyed the ride (at my own slow pace).
Côte difficile (surtout la fin) mais agréable vu l’absence de trafic. Enchaînant la montée vers le Cap Blanc-Nez, après être descendu vers Escalles, je me suis régalé (à mon rythme, peu élevé).
Slowly wrong, no cars visible. Amidst the fields, you imagine yourself in no man's land. Starts quietly and ends with a steep section. Now and then some stones on the road or traces of agriculture but more pleasant than the busy road to Escalles.
Baantje voor 'traag verkeerd, geen auto's zichtbaar. Te midden van de velden waan je je in niemandsland. Begint rustig en eindigt met een steil stuk. Af en toe wat steentjes op de weg of sporen van landbouw maar aangenamer dan de drukke weg richting Escalles.
Nice quiet road in the middle of nowhere. I used it in both directions and didn't see any cars ... Nothing but cyclists ... What is striking in this August 2022 is the colour: the brown of the drought!

Jolie petite route tranquille au milieu de nulle part. Je l'ai utilisée dans les deux sens et je n'ai vu aucune voiture ... Rien que des cyclistes ... Ce qui frappe en ce mois d'août 2022, c'est la couleur : le brun de la sécheresse !

Cycling along the main road (D940) you suddenly run into a small road on your right, only consisting of 2 concrete plates with grass in between. When entering the road you wonder if it's really meant to be here and if the road doesn't end somewhere. But keep going (also doable with racing bikes), because it turns out to be a real hidden gem. The higher you climb, the more beautiful the views become, while the road with irregular percentages meanders in front of you through the fields. At the top you have a view over the sea and the Cap Blanc Nez hill.
Absolute recommendation!
Fietsend over de grote doorgaande weg (D940) duikt er aan je rechterhand ineens een klein weggetje, slechts bestaande uit 2 betonplaten met gras ertussen, het veld in. Bij het inrijden vraag je jezelf af of het wel de bedoeling is dat je hier inrijdt en of de weg toch niet ergens ineens doodloopt. Maar fiets vooral door (ook prima te doen met racefiets), want het blijkt een echte verborgen parel. Hoe hoger je klimt, hoe mooier de uitzichten worden, terwijl de weg zich met onregelmatige percentages zich voor je uit door de velden slingert. Op de top heb je uitzicht over de zee enerzijds en de boven de omgeving uittornende heuvel van Cap Blanc Nez anderzijds.
