Best done on a Sunday morning to reduce the amount of traffic (especially lorries). Pleasant steady climb. Flat from the 6th km. Time taken at the start of the flat section 34 mins ("la porte rouge" area) as the rest is of no interest.
À faire le dimanche matin pour avoir moins de circulation (notamment des camions) montée régulière agréable. Faux plat à partir du 6ème km. Temps pris au début du faux plat 34mns ( quartier "la porte rouge" )car le reste n à aucun intérêt
Climbed during the Paris-Nice 2022 challenge (13 March), cold day with a strong wind. First climb after approaching the valley. A nice climb. Regular with a good road surface. Especially in March, very quiet with traffic. Nice view over the valley and the river Var. The climb is regularly visited by pros who live in the area (Monaco!). This climb was part of the Tour de France in 1981 (1st on Bernard Hinault) and in 1964 (1st on Frederico Bahamontes).
Monté pendant le défi Paris-Nice 2022 (13 mars), journée froide avec un vent fort. Première montée après l'approche de la vallée. Une belle montée. Régulier avec une bonne surface de route. Surtout en mars, très calme avec le trafic. Belle vue sur la vallée et le fleuve Var. L'escalade est régulièrement visitée par des pros qui vivent dans la région (Monaco !). Cette montée a fait partie du Tour de France en 1981 (1er sur Bernard Hinault) et en 1964 (1er sur Frederico Bahamontes).
