Just outside the village you look out beautifully over the Meuse valley. Nice to stop for a moment before the real climbing begins.
Mooie lange klim, startend in het dorpje fiets je zo de bossen in. Er is zeer weinig verkeer en wij fietsten deze 's ochtends vroeg door de mistbanken heen. De klim vond ik nergens echt lastig maar omdat het een lange klim is word je wel op de proef gesteld.
Net buiten het dorpje kijk je fraai uit over de Maasvallei. Leuk om even te stoppen voordat het echte klimmen begint.
Als afdaling is deze ook aan te raden!

Net na het eerste steilere stuk dorp uit, een leuk uitzichtpunt

Inderdaad: hiervoor kom je naar hier. Een klim die meer naar een kleine col begint te leunen. Heel rustig in mooie bosomgeving. Eigenlijk jammer van de korte afdaling, anders heb je echt een onafgebroken inspanning van minstens 20 minuten

Deze klim toont voor mij de sterkte van de Franse Ardennen, zelfs tov van de Belgische Ardennen: een klim van maar liefst 7km en 400 hoogtemeters: dit leunt aan naar lichtere klims in hoger middengebergte. Start steil in Haybes, geleidelijk aan rijd je het dorp uit en het bos in even onderbroken door 2 korte afdalingen. Hierna best wel steil voor een periode. Bovenkomend ben je nog niet verlost want als je rechts afslaat loopt het nog wat vals plat op.
