In terms of traffic, this side of the kopje is the quietest. Beginning of the climb a little stumbling to keep pace and then also quickly at the top. For the North Hollander who wants to include a climb on the bike route close to home, the kopje is the perfect spot

When you don’t have money or lazy to travel to Spain for climbs you do this one 400 times in one go

A lot more spicy than the other north climb. 10% Over cobbles, something you don't see very often in the Netherlands. After the steep part, it's hard to catch your breath; you have to go into the red.

I am not myself so'n climbing goat. The first time up I had to stop. A second time in a controlled way was fine.

There is no alternative to the Kopje for miles around. The brick road may not be as comfortable as as asphalt, but it is part of the charm. It is best to ride from north to south, then you descend the last part on asphalt, ride behind the mountain left back to the hockey fields, where in the curve, just after the entrance of the hockey club, the rise begins (I register my climbing time from there). Good interval training for banging uphill 10 times and acidifying twice in the climb with two bumps.
