Beautiful and varied, that typifies the Koekoeksweg. From a hollow road to beautiful farm country road between fields and meadows. Steeper passages, well-walked sections and even a small descent. This climb has a bit of everything and that's what makes it fun!
Mooi en afwisselend, dat typeert de Koekoeksweg. Van een holle weg naar mooie boeren landweg tussen de akkers en weilanden. Steilere passages, goed lopende stukken en zelfs een kleine afdaling. Deze beklimming heeft van alles wat en juist dat maakt het leuk!
This is a climb with a high Teletubbie landscape content. Beautiful views of the surrounding hills once you've had the first piece of hollow road. Spicy piece too. The road surface is good, but in winter months a bit polluted. In a radius of 10 kilometers are so many beautiful climbs that you effortlessly to other climbs knots.
Dit is een klim met een hoog Teletubbie-landschap gehalte. Mooie uitzichten op de heuvels rondom als je het eerste stuk holle weg hebt gehad. Pittig stukje ook nog wel. Het wegdek is goed, maar in de wintermaanden wel wat vervuild. In een straal van 10 kilometer liggen hier zoveel mooie klimmetjes dat je deze moeiteloos aan andere klimmetjes knoopt.
You can actually start this climb from Voerendaal where you ride via false flat to Winthagen. From Winthagen it goes firmly up via a hollow road. Then follows a calmer piece and a descent into a very nice little valley with beautiful views to the right, and you see the second part of the climb nicely going up. This second part is a nice climb. On Karstraat you can turn left for some extra altitude meters and you will arrive at the top of Vrakelberg.
Je kan deze klim eigenlijk al beginnen vanaf Voerendaal waar je dan via vals plat naar Winthagen rijdt. Vanaf Winthagen gaat het stevig omhoog via een holle weg. Hierna volgt een rustiger stuk en een afdaling in een zeer fraai dalletje met mooi uitzicht naar rechts, en voor je zie je het tweede deel van de klim mooi omhoog gaan. Dit tweede stuk is heerlijk klimmen. Op de Karstraat kan je nog linksaf voor wat extra hoogtemeters en kom je uit bij de top van de Vrakelberg.
