On a par with Furka and Grimsel, it is one of the most beautiful climbs I have ever tackled in Switzerland. I climbed it on a Saturday in late summer, with temperatures starting out crisp, and encountered little traffic and even some fresh snow from around 1700! A 10-star environment along the entire route. The moderate and regular gradients allow for a loose pedal stroke without ever becoming fatigued. The descent is quick and if you do not encounter any cars, just as pleasant. Fountains along the entire route.

Fontane lungo l'intero percorso.

Superb climb. Nice road conditions all the way up and not too much traffic (july). Gets better and better towards the top. Beautiful views over the valley. Be aware of a single small tunnel where the road is constantly wet which is unpleasent during decent.

After a fairly drab start this climb comes to life after the short descent at the halfway mark..waterfalls very nice views of the valley & then the overhanging road. Its well worth doing

The climb of the Klausenpass from Atdorf (Willem Tell) was a wonderful experience.Long but quite doable with all those views and flowers everywhere.Totally different scenery than e.g. Mont Ventoux. When you cycle a bit further to Wassen (Sustenpass) and Andermatt (Gothardpass,Oberalppass,Furkapass with the Rhone glacier) you come across climbs in more or less the same natural conditions.

A fairly steady, and fairly easy (for Swiss Alps) climb. The pass itself is not that interesting, and the traffic can get quite heavy, too. I would say going there once is enough.

Climbed it last year during a short cycling trip to Switzerland. It's already my favourite cycling country, and this one, together with the Grimsel/Furka transition, is the cycling highlight. Beautiful col, stunning surroundings!
Loop Klausen - Pragelpas is perhaps even the most beautiful I have ever cycled.
