An inferno in 2 stages, the cobbled section is in good condition, the first part gradually increases in intensity, with a view of the last bend in the distance. After the last bend, the wall is steep, the cobbles slippery in the rain, and it's the last effort before the tarmac and the summit of Kemmel.
You ride through a hollow road to the Belvedere side of the Kemmelberg. The first part you can warm up your legs a bit before seeing off nice and hard on the cobbles. This is also the quietest road to ride to this side of the Kemmelberg.
You can see the beast from afar/deep so you know exactly what to expect. Unfortunately, this does not make it any easier.
This beautiful climb starts in the countryside on a small road where you can see Mount Kemmel in the distance! At a certain point you enter the path surrounded by trees and then you can see the cobbled part. I thought I wasn't going to make it, but I did it anyway. Nice summit ...
Beau sommet ...
Besides coming from Monteberg, I find this the best way to ride up the Kemmelberg. You come through the forest to the top and before you know it you're at the foot of the cobblestones. Quiet road, so you avoid the crowds and concrete track coming from Kemmel.
