Relaxed ascent on an always good cycle lane or cycle path. The traffic is also reasonably limited. However, you have to cycle for about 300 metres through a busy, noisy and smelly tunnel, which is why I cannot recommend this climb.

Long and varied climb between Laurensberg and Aachen with no traffic lights and where you can almost always cycle separately - over bike path or good bike lane - from other traffic. Percentages are low but the length ensures you still make some altimeters. The tunnel certainly adds some cachet to the route but is noisy. Largely fine tarmac. After you turn left to the viaduct, the road surface changes to well-laid cobbles which runs until the end. Lots of greenery along the route.
