Nice climb. Was expecting it to be a bit tougher given how well used it is in vuelta and classica SS but didn't feel too much pain 😀... read more

A fine climb up the Jaizkibel, with a first section that really gets the legs going, followed by a short descent before tackling the hardest part of the 3km climb. The last kilometre is more accessible.

You should not rely too much on the profile because the beginning is difficult, if you have not done any kms before! Then it rolls all by itself with even a small descent before attacking 500m very steep and 1 km around 8-9%. The end is difficult but you can accelerate quite easily. Very beautiful landscape during almost all the ascent. No need for a specific training to climb this quite affordable pass!

Start slowly until the church, then speed up a bit and the last kilometers are quite steep. With good weather very nice views. Can be busy in the weekend.

Nice climb to the top of the Jaizkibel with beautiful views (have to be lucky and not have clouds or fog which are quite common here). First you climb to Guadalupeko with a church, with views towards the Pyrenees, France and Hondarribia until then. You cross a col here, descend a bit and climb up on the sea side until just before the pass. Just before the Jaizkibel pass, you turn left into a dead-end road to the summit with the communication towers. The road ends at a fence with quite a bit of poo on the road at the end. Here you have really beautiful views, except to the south (the road just doesn't go to the real peak). Most of the climb is a wide road where it can be busy with tourist traffic, so it is better to go early or late. Good road surface. Nowhere really steep.

Goed wegdek. Nergens echt steil.
