Very beautiful landscape during almost all the ascent. No need for a specific training to climb this quite affordable pass!
Start slowly until the church, then speed up a bit and the last kilometers are quite steep. With good weather very nice views. Can be busy in the weekend.
Nice climb to the top of the Jaizkibel with beautiful views (you need to be lucky and have no clouds or fog which are quite common here). First you climb to Guadalupeko with a church, with until then views towards the Pyrenees, France and Hondarribia. You cross a col here, descend a bit and climb up on the sea side until just before the pass. Just before the Jaizkibel pass you turn left into a dead end road to the top with the communication towers. The road ends at a fence with quite some poo on the road at the end. Here you have really great views, except to the south (the road just doesn't go to the real peak). Most of the climb is a wide road where it can be busy with tourist traffic, so it is better to go early or late. Good road surface. Nowhere really steep. Climbed this col as part of a route I posted on wikiloc: https://nl.wikiloc.com/routes-fietsen/hendaye-san-sebastian-lesaka-saint-jean-de-luz-hendaye-130-km-road-bike-trip-41428426
