First part goes well, until you round the bend and the second tough section from the village of Neuville looms. Nice climb, downside is indeed the lesser condition of the road surface in part 2.
Eerste deel gaat goed, tot je de bocht omkomt en het tweede pittige stuk vanuit het dorp Neuville opdoemt. Mooie klim, minpuntje is inderdaad de mindere staat van het wegdek in deel 2.
The climb is divided into two parts: the first part is rather rolling on a long straight line "interminable", and the second part is much steeper on a bad surface, which accentuates the difficulty even more.
La côte se divise en deux parties : la première partie est plutôt roulante sur une longue ligne droite "interminable", et la deuxième est bcp plus pentue sur un revêtement en mauvais état, ce qui accentue encore plus la difficulté.
Nice and steady climb until the curve of hell...the last 600 metres are constant around 12％...you really feel the legs getting empty...as a reward the long descent of the Haute levee

Not to be underestimated.
The main difficulty of this climb lies at the end. From the right-hand bend, in the village of Neuville, it goes up quite steeply. The road surface is not great on that last stretch, which doesn't make it any easier.
Otherwise, quiet and beautiful cycling here.
Toch niet te onderschatten deze.
Zwaartepunt van deze klim ligt op het einde. Vanaf de bocht naar rechts, in het dorpje Neuville, gaat het toch vrij steil naar boven. Wegdek is ook niet super op dat laatste stuk, dat maakt het er niet prettiger op.
Verder wel rustig en mooi fietsen hier.
First part of the climb was pretty good, but as you approach the dense forest, the tarmac is worse. You better ride it up because descending is a bit too dangerous in my opinion. In addition, you can take the Haute Levée as a descent and that is a track where you can achieve great speeds with ease!
Eerste deel van beklimming lag het vrij goed, maar naarmate je het dichte bos nadert, ligt het asfalt er ook wel slechter bij. Je rijdt deze beter op want afdalen is in mijn ogen iets te gevaarlijk. Daarbij kan je de Haute Levée meenemen als afdaling en dat is een baan waar je grote snelheden kan halen met gemak!
While I wanted to ride it as a descent last week they were repairing the road, so I had to go around it. Yesterday I rode it as a climb, holes are nicely filled with fresh asphalt so good to do now. Nice and warm until the hamlet of Neuville and then a really nice and steep piece winding through the woods. Nice. Just when you think you're going to get sick of it, the road flattens out and you can keep on riding until you reach the main road.
Terwijl ik hem afgelopen week als afdaling wilde rijden waren ze de weg aan het repareren, dus ik moest er omheen. Gisteren als klim gereden, gaten zijn mooi op z’n Belgisch gevuld met vers asfalt dus goed te doen nu. Lekker warm worden tot het gehucht Neuville en daarna echt een mooi en steil stukje kronkelend door het bos. Mooi. Net als je denkt dat je verzuurt vlakt het af en lekker doortrekken tot de grote weg.
The road surface is not great, but it is manageable, especially the 10％ km after the village.
Wegdek is niet geweldig maar wel doenbaar, vooral het stuk van ca 10％ na het dorp ligt er iets minder bij

Nice running climb until you turn right off the main road.
Then you can really run into yourself.
Lekker lopende klim tot je rechts van de grote weg draait.
Dan kan je jezelf echt tegenkomen.
