A climb I always ride, when I am in the area. The climb is nice and steady all the way with only a few 'steeper' sections at 7-8％, meaning that you can really motor up those 5％ gradients. I also like the variety in the landscape as you start the climb by riding through scenic gorge surroundings, then a small village and afterwards more open terrain where you can get a fleeting glimpse of the col summit. A few switchbacks in the last kilometers and you are there. Good views from the top, especially if you look down the descent to Bouvieres.
Really include it in your route. Straight through a rocky gorge, past lavender fields and insane views when you get to the hairpin turns. And then a lovely long descent. A lot less fun climbing from the other side.
Echt in je route opnemen. Dwars door een rotskloof, langs lavendelvelden en een waanzinnig uitzicht als je bij de haarspeldbochten komt. En daarna een heerlijk lange afdaling. Vanaf de andere kant een stuk minder leuk klimmen.

Supermooie beklimming, goed hard op te rijden. Afdaling richting buvieres heerlijk en dan doorrijden naar bourdeaux met een heerlijk geasfalteerde weg met zo’n 2％ naar beneden waar je gemakkelijk 40-50 haalt. Klim zelf lekker regelmatig en eerste kilometers erg mooi langs de rivier. Laatste paar bochten ook erg gaaf
A very nice climb in an insanely beautiful setting.
The col itself is a runner. On climbfinder it is listed as 8.1 km long but the signs next to the road indicate 6.5 km because you do not feel the first 1.6 km that it rises. After 2 km you drive between a colonnade of rocks over 100 m high and on your right a small river. It looks like a movie set so beautiful.
The last 2 km is more open and the last km is the most steep.
Here you can use the big plateau to go up. This is the Drome at its finest.
Een zeer mooie beklimming in een waanzinwekkend mooie omgeving.
De col op zich is een loper. Bij climbfinder staat hij als 8.1 km lang maar de borden naast de weg geven 6.5 km aan omdat je de eerste 1.6 niet voelt dat het stijgt. Na 2 km rij je tussen een zuilengang van rotsen van meer dan 100 m hoog en rechts naast je een riviertje. Het lijkt wel een filmdecor zo prachtig .
De laatste 2 km is het meer open en de laatste km is het meest steile.
Hier kan je met de grote plateau naar boven. Dit is de Drome op zijn mooist.
Our holiday home was on the Col de la Sausse, so on every bike ride I had to conquer this guy. Very nice climb through the Gorges des Trentes Pass. Not too long, not too steep.
Ons vakantiehuis lag op de Col de la Sausse, dus bij ieder fietstochtje moest ik deze knul nog even bedwingen. Heel mooie klim doorheen de Gorges des Trentes Pas. Niet te lang, niet té steil.
