Bit of a boring climb, but fine to do if you're around there anyway. Super even though with 5% all the time... read more

I did this climb in 2022 but in 2 parts because I took a turn halfway up. Personally, I find this one of the lesser climbs in this beautiful region. It is nowhere tough and the road is very open and atypical of the region. Only advantage is that you can refill your drink almost at the top which is quite exceptional at the top of a climb in the Drome. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery and lavender fields along the way, though. The descent is incredibly beautiful though, say fabulous between the rocks and the small stream. It looks like a film set , fairytale-like.

Up to Bouvières it is a nice climb though: first through a narrow valley that then opens up and you can suddenly see the col in the distance. But although after Bouvières is the "steepest" part, it is also the least interesting: it is just a fairly tight road up without any views and at the end one and a half hairpins. Then again, there are plenty of nastier climbs, of course, and the descent to St.Ferreol, on the other hand, is beautiful, so it's worth it only there.
