It's an ascent that follows the Mont Cenis pass, there are lovely views over the lakes, the road is a bit of a taubogan, ending in a dead end, you have to make a U-turn. There are quite a few cars and the road is very narrow.
C'est une ascension qui suit le col du mont cenis, il y a de jolies vues sur le lacs, la route est un peu en taubogan, pour finir en impasse, il faut faire demi-tour. Il y a tout de même pas mal de voitures avec une route très étroite.
wonderful climb from lanslebourg on wide smooth bitumen road through pine forest and open meadows lead you to col du mont cenis with the stone walls of elephants and cyclists. then take a turn to the right to descend to the lake. sadly a portion of the narrow paved lane to le petit mont cenis has crumpled so i had to walk down the grassy embankment, cross a stream on 2 wooden planks, then climb up the grass back onto the paved path. definitely worthwhile as the path led me across a stunningly beautiful open meadow, mainly uphill with short sharp pinches along a ridge to le petit MC. marmottes everywhere! magnificent area!
