The 1st part is on a road in poor condition but very nice in the forest and with an impressive number of twists and turns. Then the 2nd part is quite irregular with small descents and pretty panoramas.
La 1ere partie est sur une route en mauvaise état mais très sympathique dans la forêt et avec un nombre de lacet impressionnant. Puis la 2eme partie est assez irrégulière avec des petites descentes et de jolie panorama.
Did this climb in 30+ degrees so was very happy with the shade over most of the climb, it's not really steep and you can maintain a nice rhythm until the village of albiez le jeune, from there it goes up and down a bit with steeper sections and in full sun. But definitely keep something left for the final kilometre because that is still a very steep and long km
Heb deze klim gedaan bij 30+ graden dus was zeer blij met de schaduw over het grootste deel van de klim, hij is niet echt stijl en je kan er een mooi ritme onderhouden tot aan het dorp van albiez le jeune, vanaf daar gaat het wat op en neer met stijlere stroken en in de volle zon. Maar houd zeker nog iets over voor de slotkilometer want dat is nog een hele stijle en lange km
Although the road from Villargondrans to the Col de la Confrérie isn't great, at least the climb is regular and you find your rhythm, on the other hand from the Col de Confrérie to Albiez-Montrond the road is good but broken, it goes up then down then up again, you get the impression that you don't know how to ride any more and it's terrible for your legs. From Albiez-Montrond to the Col du Mollard the route is excellent and the climb steeper but steady.
Bien que la route soit pas top depuis Villargondrans jusqu'au col de la Confrérie, au moins la montée est régulière et onn trouve son rythme, en revanche depuis le col de Confrérie jusqu'à Albiez-Montrond la route est bonne mais casse patte, ça monte puis descent puis remonte, on à l'impression de plus savoir rouler et terrible pour les jambes. Après de Albiez-Montrond j'usqu'au col du Mollard la route est excellente et la montée plus raide mais régulière.

A more difficult climb than shown in the graphic, especially when the heat is on.
There's no part of the route in the shade for the first few kilometres and you can enjoy some fine views over the valley and the massif opposite, then it's into the woods almost as far as Albiez le Jeune.
The graph showing average gradients does not reflect the difficulty of the final section, which is very steep.
It's true that the tarmac isn't in good condition everywhere but it's OK, no worse than the descent down the other side towards St jean de Maurienne.

Col plus difficile que sur le graphique surtout lorsque la chaleur s'en mêle.
Pas de partie à l'ombre lors des premiers kilomètres et l'on peut profiter de quelques beaux points de vues sur la vallée et le massif en face, ensuite c'est dans les bois quasiment jusqu'à Albiez le Jeune.
Le graphique qui indique des pourcentages moyens ne reflète pas la difficulté du final qui est très raide.
C'est vrai que le bitume n'est pas en bon état partout mais ça va, pas pire que la descente par l'autre versant vers St jean de Maurienne.
Climb starts with beautiful unnumbered endless hairpin festival up the forested (shadow) south flank of the Maurienne valley with sporadic viewpoints. At the exit of the forest you pass in Albiez Le Jeune the "pre top" Col de la Confrérie to recuperate and from Albiez Montront to finish the somewhat steeper last kilometre to the top.
The highest point with an opportunity to eat and drink and a water source offers a 360° view of the high mountains and is dominated by the three peaks of the Aiguilles d'Arves.
The wooded area is even and ideal for getting into your climbing rhythm. There is hardly any traffic. Asphalt is less but still doable uphill. I did miss the typical white and yellow kilometre markers of the Tour cols.
Absolutely recommended and when cycling through ideal as a run-up to the Croix de Fer route where you end up after the descent.
Klim start met mooi ongenummerd eindeloos haarspeldbochtenfestival de beboste (schaduw) zuidflank van de Maurienne vallei naar omhoog met sporadisch uitzichtpunten. Bij het uitkomen van het bos passeer je in Albiez Le Jeune de "pré top" Col de la Confrérie om dan even op en af te recupereren en vanaf Albiez Montront de iets steilere slotkilometer tot de top af te werken.
Hoogste punt met drank & eetgelegenheid en waterbron heeft 360° hooggebergte uitzicht waar vooral de 3 pieken van de Aiguilles d'Arves in het oog springen.
Bosgedeelte heeft gelijkmatig ％ en is ideaal om in je klimritme te komen. Er is amper verkeer. Asfaltkwaliteit is minder maar bergop nog best te doen. Miste wel de typische wit gele kilometerpaaltjes van de Tour cols.
Absolute aanrader en bij het doorfietsen ideaal als aanloop naar de Croix de Fer route waar je na de afdaling op terecht komt.
I loved this climb, I had a light soquette unfortunately I can't give you a time because I made a mistake at the top of the confrérie, I saw a sign written "le Mollard " and I turned right I went down 3 km on the wrong side, so half turn and direction le Mollard, the real climb, it's the col de la confrérie after it's beautiful but it's false flat
The climb is done in the woods with a damaged asphalt, very good for me, it was very hot, the slopes are in the 6 to 7 percent but beware of the turns contrary to the other passes where we can relaunch, it is there that is the difficulty, the turns are tight and abrupt, it takes a small jump to pass them clean.
Big advantage, there is nobody on the road, I had to cross 4 camping cars, for me a superb climb where you can really enjoy yourself
J'ai adoré cette montée ,j'avais la soquette légère malheureusement je ne peux pas vous donner un temps car je me suis trompé au sommet de la confrérie ,j'ai vu un panneau écrit "le Mollard " et j'ai tourné à droite je suis descendu 3 km du mauvais côté ,donc demi tour et direction le Mollard ,la vraie montée ,c'est le col de la confrérie après c'est beau mais c'est faux plat
La montée se fait dans les bois avec un asphalte abîmé , très bien pour moi ,il faisait très chaud ,les pentes sont dans les 6 à 7 pour cent mais attention aux virages contrairement aux autres cols où on peut relancer ,c'est là qu'est la difficulté ,les virages sont serrés et abruptes ,il faut un petit jump pour les passer propres .
Gros avantage ,il n'y a personne sur la route ,j'ai dû croiser 4 camping cars ,pour moi une superbe montée où on peut vraiment se faire plaisir
Beginning is fairly steep many hairpin turns nice views occasionally. But very bad tarmac. If you come out of the forest you come to the easier part. Then the views are really nice!
Begin is redelijk steil veel haarspeldbochten leuke uitzichten zo af en toe. Wel erg slecht asfalt. Als je het bos uitkomt kom je op het makkelijker gedeelte. Daarna worden de uitzichten echt mooi!
Spicy first part but nice and cool in the shade. Nice warm-up climb for the rest of the week. Road surface is not as good as it should be
Pittig 1e stuk maar heerlijk koel in de schaduw. Leuke opwarmklim voor de rest vd week. Wegdek is niet overal even goed meer
Not really the most beautiful climb and very bad roads. Not much motorized traffic though. We did the part from croix de fer.
Niet echt de mooiste klim en zeer slechte wegen. Wel niet veel gemotoriseerd verkeer. We hebben het stuk gedaan vanaf croix de fer.
This climb was part of the Marmotte in the year that it could not via the Galibier. The climb starts in Villargondran with lots of hairpin turns and lots of shade (recommended for hot days). The last kilometers with more open terrain are much flatter and you see the ski area, you can possibly descend through the Croix de Fer

De klim begint in Villargondran met lekker veel haarspeldbochten en veel schaduw (aanrader dus voor warme dagen). De laatste kilometers met meer open terrein zijn veel vlakker en zie je het skigebied, je kunt eventueel afdalen via de Croix de Fer
Beautiful climb with very little traffic! Difficult start but smoother kilometers at the end.
Prachtige klim met heel weinig verkeer! Moeilijke start maar vlottere kilometers op het einde.
You can do this climb if you have some strength left for some extra altimeters during the descent from the Croix de Fer towards Saint-Jean, followed by a descent through the forest with many hairpin turns.
Deze klim kan je doen als je tijdens de afdaling van de Croix de Fer richting Saint-Jean nog wat kracht over hebt voor wat extra hoogtemeters, gevolgd door een afdaling door het bos met vele haarspeldbochten.
Indeed, agree with the previous writers. The climb starts at the crossroads with the pocket knife in St. Jean de Maurienne and then counts about 17 km. It's not such a small climb, you know.

The climb should start from villargrondan. And descend through the official mollard. Then you drive a round ... recommended. Cool during mega many hairpin turns in the woods

Isn't the part from Villargondran one of them? This is the most beautiful part of the climb, with numerous hairpins with fairly pleasant gradients.
Hoort hier het stuk vanaf Villargondran niet bij? Dat is het mooiste stuk van de klim, met talloze haarspeldbochten met redelijk aangename stijgingspercentages.
